Hmm, most of the time when I study it is because I am obligated to, because of my degree course. The only things I find I can always come back to are films and comics, though not always, just because it isn't a straining activity for me, appeals to my creativity/ fun side and is generally energising.
I guess I'd say study something because you want to study it rather than feeling you should study it, but I suppose that's not very helpful.

Actually, I'd say I enjoy preoccupying my time with something, as well, if it comes across as an investment. I play poker because it helps stimulate my people reading abilities; I read comics and watch films because in a very distant future I'd want to be involved in them in some way.
Generally, I'm a massive procrastinator though. I don't always keep my time preoccupied, but I've taken up to walking because it allows me to use that time in a more productive way than simply sitting around. If I'm walking I can day-dream, at the same time it's healthy and I have the chance to explore new areas which is fun and spiritual in its own way.
