influence of parents on personalities

there is me, INTP parented by ISFP and ISFJ. ISFP dad like to drive fast, and is the best driver I ever met.
on the other hand there is ISTP, my cousin, parented by ESFJ and ESTJ, none of them drive good.

I drive very well, I can do incredible things sometimes, like 100km/h driving and overtaking in a city, where is a lot of cars and people. Yeah it's dangerous, but I never had crash.

My cousin is 5 years older and... even don't have driving license, he tried many times but it seems he sucks, also he don't walk fast, when we are cycling I also ride fast, and do risky moves, but he is over calm and slow.

So, is driving car an ability that is not connected with predispose personality type and can be learned by watching and practicing (I observed my father for about 20 years how he drive, so when I was finally started driving I knew everything) OR

ISTPs are bad at driving?

i'm pretty good at driving, passed both theoric examn and real driving in one attempt. There's many people out there who fail several times before getting it but i don't think that's indicative of anything cuz there is too much shit involved, everyone has a different luck with events.
at first when i got it i was a bit scared of driving in the center of the city, u know madrid is big and crowded as fuck

but after a while everything is good
anyway i did have an accident after 6 years of perfect driving, it was product of too much confidence and a mind that was overloaded by multiple tasks such as studying while driving, reading from a book that was inside a backpack in the copilot seat and smoking a cigarette in a highway at 110 km/h, i got out of my car in flames buried in smoke and first thing i saw there was a guy showing me his middle finger, i realized i was still in this earth.

I'm a pretty good driver, yeah. I'm a bit of a petrol head too. Currently drive a RenaultSport Megane (all black w/ red brembos / recaro buckets, etc.)

I'll be swapping it for a family-shitbox soon, though.

Yes parents have a profound influence on their kids in many subtle ways, such as you demonstrate above.

I've observed several INTP's growing up

• INTP Female Friend - ES mother, S father
• INTP Male Friend - IN father, mother deceased and am unsure
• Myself - ESTJ father, ESFP mother
• Son - INTP father, INFJ mother
• Son of colleague - ISFJ mother, ESTJ father

Having this population for study and knowing them intimately has taught me about the confluence between environment and type - the old nature versus nurture. There's a lot that could be discussed, but what I've seen is that the two 'natively raised' INTP's - my son and male friend, who both were raised in intuitive households, are the 'most INTP' of the lot. The rest of us suffer and benefit from having the opposite parenting style.

Which explains your situation and many like it, which is that a person can have skills or 'interests' that don't go with their type.
