Whenever the index page is open, it seems the auto-refresh feature of the Latest Posts widget overloads the network which causes other INTPf links to hang when loading.

I have noticed this happening on and off for awhile and it seems to only affect Chrome. Is it happening to anyone else? I'm not sure if it's because of one of my extensions.

Bumping this thread for continued relevance, it's not just a functionality issue but a bandwidth issue as well.

It happens 5-15 minutes after leaving an open window of the index page to idle. I noticed in the Windows network resource monitor that there was about 1000Kbps / 130KBps of total traffic. It seems to occur regardless of extensions as I disabled all my network extensions to test it, and again it seems to only affect Chrome.

I'm not sure how many other people this happens to however if there is a bandwidth leak for even just a few users then could cause problems with the site's monthly usage.

speaking of auto-refresh, i am using firefox and in so called live-topics the last post keeps disappearing after a few seconds, just while i'm in the middle of reading it. this has been happening since forever. what is this feature even supposed to do? add new posts to the thread? i wish i could just turn it off.

i am always coming from the new posts page.
