I am too aware of others feelings to be an intp.
Fe is the INTP's inferior function. If you are an INTP who doesn't have as strong a preference between T and F, perhaps you feel more aware of the feelings of others than an INTP with a stronger preference for Ti. An INFP would have Fi as the dominant function, which would focus more inwardly than outwardly, i.e., on an internal set of values rather than on the feelings/judgments of others. Therefore it makes more sense to me that you would be INTP, based on what you've said so far (and assuming that you are indeed an INxP).
Keep in mind also that MBTI is about preferences and how you gain or spend your energy. Just because you prefer one mode of functioning, that doesn't mean that you won't be able to function differently.
I'm not sure how accurate all that is, but if I'm wrong hopefully someone will come along and correct me. Some folks here on the forum have a much deeper understanding of MBTI than I do. I suggest you read the cognitive function stickies and other MBTI materials around the web; if you understand what the type notation means and how it relates to dominant and auxiliary functions, it will be a great help in typing yourself and others. The more you know about how these things interact, the more accurate you can be when you try and type yourself.
And yes, i do think they aremyself disciplined because I get the feeling I'm the only pot smoking/cigarette addicted intp in this forum. Am I wrong?
Ok, first of all, I would imagine there are plenty of smokers (of both weed and tobacco) on the forum, but you wouldn't know because they live across the country or across the world.
Second, even people who do smoke don't always advertise that fact even in face-to-face interactions. Back when I used to smoke pot, people who discovered that fact about me were always very surprised. I found that to be a great comfort, since it meant that suspicion was less likely to fall on me. So I nurtured that impression in other people and only revealed my habit if I deemed them worthy of knowing.
Third, being a smoker of either substance doesn't necessarily mean that you are not disciplined. Hell, Obama was a cigarette smoker for years and still managed to be a con-law professor, Senator, and President. You don't get those jobs without some measure of discipline. You can also smoke pot and still get things done on time and do a good job. I hate the stereotype of stoners as lazy hippies who never get any work done. I personally know more hard-working pot smokers than lazy hippy pot smokers, and I know a lot who fall somewhere in between.
Lastly, discipline is not necessarily a function of your personality. It's a skill that must be developed over time, and for INTPs that can be difficult. We tend to lose interest in a subject once we gain competency, and it takes discipline to keep plugging away at it. It might be easier for personality types that are naturally inclined to be more disciplined, but everyone has moments where they would rather be doing something--anything--other than the task in front of them.
