Serving humanity by counterexample
Hi. I think I did this a while back, but then I took a long pause from forum-going in general and now I return.
I'm JPS. Those anyway are my initials.
I'll probably be posting here on a frequent basis from now on.
I enjoy certain things. Among those are philosophy, writing, D&D, mathematics and computer programming, music, and caffeine.
Philosophy-wise, I enjoy Nietzsche, Heidegger, and Camus. My reading is kind of patchy, though, so excuse me. I am an agnostic and if I could describe my philosophy in two words, then those would be 'irreligious irrationalism'.
Author-wise, I enjoy the above, as well as fiction from the Romantic era. My favorite short story is The Vampyre by John Polidori, which in fact is the first ever example of vampiric fiction. I plan on one day doing a movie adaptation of the story if I ever find the time.
I am a novice dungeon master. I enjoy sending my players on adventures in settings of my own devising.
I work at an internship where my job involves modeling lost person behavior, but I shan't reveal any more about that.
I enjoy alternative music, This Town Needs Guns being a recent favorite of mine. The vocals are a bit of an acquired taste, but the guitar-playing is rich and complex; hence my appreciation.
I drink coffee and tea, but mostly coffee. My favorite kind of tea is Earl Grey.
That's all for now. I hope I've sold myself as an interesting person. Thanks for reading.
