So... I know that some of you guys on here are good writers. Could someone throw together a sonnet I could use for english class. That would be awesome. I can't write for shit

Sounds to me as though you're soliciting plagiarism, which is bound to be against your school's policies. Such a thing could affect your admission to college or an advanced degree program, and could seriously damage your career potential as well. Why don't you write it yourself and use the opportunity to improve your writing skills?

for it was not from the sweat of one's brow.
And though my reaction may be knee-jerk,
it is one thing that schools do not allow.

Even if one's professor is not wise,
the act itself has unrealized cost;
one's own work may not win a nobel prize
but the chance to learn for one's self is lost.

Sonnets aren't as hard as they may seem,
and do not drive the writer to a cliff;
but hand this one in and I might just scream,
for this one was written by Spaceman Spiff.

don't be discouraged, just give it a try,
a rhyme dictionary is your ally.

You would be surprised at how much I can't write, but... ya know, I'll just use a rhyme dictionary and write anything. My teacher is a nice guy. It was due last week anyways... lol

Though you may not care for that which you write,
it is important to try on your own.
Once you've written a poem, even if trite,
reward yourself with a big ice cream cone.

You will benefit from learning to do
the things in which you haven't a passion;
work hard and observe your knowledge accrue,
for knowledge never goes out of fashion.

Once your poem is a fait accompli,
within yourself you will find satisfaction.
In the end you will be certain to see
all the skills that you have gained from your action.

It only takes a small inspiration
to write poems for your education.

This is fun. I should post in sonnet form more often.

I'd gladly offer free shit if it didn't cost anything.
I never got offended about people copying me off a test, for example- the grade and the education are two completely different things

I also have a poem I need to write within the next hour, though.

It'll be something about...becoming partly something else and later adding the experience to the self, and having regret be an obstacle

and I have an assumption of Mary

I am in effect listening to cake
