So this ENFJ tells me:

"[FONT=&quot]Self worth is rooted in your successful ability to pursue your happiness. Are your pursuing yours? If you haven't found it you've been asleep your whole life."

My reply, verbatim:
"Inspiring.

I wouldn't know or even understand happiness if it smacked me in the face, kneed me in the nuts, and then kicked me while I was down. So maybe happiness just beat me unconscious."

Please reply with your own gems.

A yellow flower smells like peaches. What flavor is it?

Answer: Mango.

I respond similarly to statements like this at least three times a day and yet nothing comes to mind, though I may edit this later....

Ugh. Every part of me wants to tear into that quote and destroy it.

Must. Resist.

I'd probably babble something about that there are two types of people. One type that feeds upon others. And the other that produces from within, like a shining beacon over a dark forest.

Unfortunately I don't think I would have the self control to keep quiet.

So finally, something.

My brother hands me a couple of my half-decade old award papers.
I say, "Great, I can use these to roll up a blunt!" with feigned cheer (I don't smoke, btw). Yes, these awards are actually that worthless.

That sounds more like something an ENFP would say. All this shit about being "asleep your whole life" just makes my eyes roll so hard the optic nerves break and they tumble out of their sockets.

Maybe they could keep rolling like a slot machine, eventually returning to baseline. You result might still be a stinker.

Wow, that quote received a rather hostile and incisor-rich reception by the forum: fed to the lions. My condolences.

This whole episode teaches a valuable lesson: put yourself out there, and prepare to get kicked in the teeth. I'll pray for your recovery.

Self worth is rooted in your successful ability to pursue your happiness. Are your pursuing yours? If you haven't found it you've been asleep your whole life."
I would probably respond with something like this.

We're all different. The roots of your self-worth and the roots of my self-worth are watered by different springs.

I would never say that shit, yo.

Actually, I find it quite arrogant. People who experience shit in their lives can't just "pursue" happiness. Is the tortured, isolated man to blame for not "pursuing" happiness?

Whatever. The successful finding of happiness is a lot different from it's pursuit. You obviously believe that happiness is something measurable which leads me to believe that you're just another one of society's simple-minded followers. The fact that I want to be happy in some way, shape, or form means that I cannot be asleep. All you're doing is comparing and contrasting your childish idea of self-worth with accomplishment. Happiness is not something to be accomplished nor is it a final goal. I find happiness in my pursuit of it. It seems you are the one who is asleep. I question your own self-worth if you feel you need to be doing something with your life to prove that you have it.

Sounds like a very unstable basis for self worth... This calls for a spoonful of saccharine sarcasm: "Whatever makes you happy." I suspect most people who say stuff like that are reminding themselves to pursue happiness.
