I got a new job. I will be using statistical models to determine water demand for different demographics based on weather and climate events.

In eight months time I shall have my first journal paper published.

I need to buy two text books:

1) Mathematical Modelling
2) Statistics

Is it possible to fudge the data resulting in more water for certain areas?

Also, congrats.

Yes. Though, as we have learned from the hockey stick dilemma, if someone can't reproduce your results, you're screwed.

Congrats! Sounds interesting! It would make me want to implode doing statistical analysis every day though, not built for it. ;)

Good stuff! My oldest son designs weather/climate software for the National Weather Service, so I can vaguely relate to what you're going to be doing. Put all those details in their proper place: Analyze them. That'll show them. Should be a reasonable fit for one of us. Congratulations! :)
