In most ways. A popular german philosopher (Richard David Precht) starts all his public speeches to the various professional elites by reminding them that their competence exists in a sea of incompetence and that it is his job to figure out the implications of that or how all of this isolated competence could possibly come together in a good way. I am an idiot compared to Richard David Precht though. Also a different type.

While I'm aware that I have some abilities above the average person, I can admit I have several that seem to be far beneath that standard. Examples:

At forging human relationships. I pretty much don't have any - so enough said.

Sometimes I miss obvious details that make me look very stupid. This can be in work related matters or it can be quite irksome with activities such as cleaning. I literally cannot see the mess. Sometimes I can't find something that is right in front of me.

I'm also terribly at Chess and Scrabble.

when i look at myself, i don't know how incompetent i am, it's imposible, u are constantly being measured by so many different standards

That's why I used " ". Yes problems understanding comes in play here and since I have problems understanding majority and majority understanding me that turns out to be rocky road for me often enough...

I am that kind of person who can explain how to do many things yet if I were the one doing that final product would never be comleted...

I'm an idiot risk taker. In most situations I find myself in, I know the appropriate course of action, but I'll still turn my back on it. I have no idea why.

My only hope is to avoid situations where I know I'll take the risk. Come to think of it, I've gotten quite good at this. Wisdom I guess.

For example, these days:

• I won't step foot in a casino (gambling is legal here) or even the gambling lounge of a bar, because I now what will happen.
• I won't let myself bend the road rules, because I know I'll say 'fuck it' and start driving like a maniac.
• I steer clear of dangerous activities like extreme sports, because I know I'll try to perform outrageous stunts that I'm not capable of.
• I gave up competitive fighting, because I was getting reckless.
• I avoid certain types of people because they'll drag into situations where I'll do something stupid.

These days I've been trying to channel my tendency toward risk-taking into my professional work in a quest for innovation. I'm still just looking for my niche though...
