How the hell did bad words become bad words?

When you look at all the shit that people label as bad words, you can't help but wonder how they became bad words in the first place. If they weren't labeled as bad words, and everyone just treated them as normal words, then it would very likely not be treated as bad words anymore.

Like for example,

Bitch- Def. A female dog. I wonder whose the bitch who made this into a bad word.

Dick- Def. A penis. Heck, even the teacher uses this word in health.

Shit- Def. Dung. What the fuck? Are people offended when you say dung?

Ass- Def. Butt. Since when is saying body-parts offensive?

Nigger- Def. Nigerian. What the hell? This is taken from the direct context of Nigeria where African Americans originated from. How is this offensive? It's like calling someone from China Chinese and them getting all bowled over about it.

Fuck- Def. Sex. This originated from the Roman Empire where they would paint on adulteress' doors, F.U.C.K. Somehow along history, they took out the full-stops, labeled it as a vulgar word. If it's a vulgar word, don't label as such in the first place!

its' not the definitions of the word people are offended by, it's the connotation/intent that the words have grown around them. and that's probably just been born of anger.

frankly, i don't give a goddamn motherfucking shit about it. to me, they're just words.
if somebody's going to insult me using said words, i might be insulted by the insult, but not the usage of the word. some people are real sensitive about that. i dunno.
