How many people here are NOT INTPs?

I came here to study and collect INTP specimens for my "harem." If this place became more diverse, it would thwart my plans.

"Studying others" is a nice way to disguise your true love for us.

ENTP or INTP, I still dunno.

I'm somewhat sociable and not drained by people and tend to be more interested in inventing/experiential/applied-style sciencey stuff like ENTPs supposedly are, but I'm also somewhat aloof and typically am not interested in people and I can enjoy more purely theoretical stuff like INTPs.

Well, I was just putting it into INTP language. They usually can't tell the difference between having a scientific interest and feeling affectionate.

Oh no, I still want this to be intpforum. INTP majority is for the win. But we could just have all the INTP threads in "psychology" or "mbti & other typing". There's plenty of overlap anyway. And then I wouldn't feel like there's an exclusion going on.

Ya know... INTP-centric, but not obsessively so.

Please, no intpcentral references. We don't speak of them, remember?

I'm an INTJ and I came here because I find INTPs fascinating.
They are so similar to us and yet so different, I thought this would be a good way to see the differences and find out how they think.

I'm an ENTP for sure, although, like del, I am interested in highly theoretical stuff and can be pretty quiet at times. The latter is often because I just don't care to talk to the people (I mean how long can I listen to people talking about how drunk they got last night -- it really gets old fast, and then I crave a 'real' conversation, or barring that, my own thoughts. I feel guilty in those situations though because then I just watch the people like they are in a zoo or something -- yes it's horrible I know).

I'm here because I found out about this place pretty much by accident and what I read was just awesome. I was curious and fascinated, sure, but I love hanging out here too. I can relate to a lot of what is said here, but there's definitely a twist.

One thing I have noticed which amazes me: I am seeing people here who are teenagers and they are mentally so advanced in vocabulary and clarity of thought. My very unscientific observations tell me you guys must develop about 10 years ahead of everyone else or so.

Just 'eejit works. Or Jeff! Looks like I have started off with a prolific BANG in the "praise of feelers" thread! Hope at least a fraction of my touchy-feely insight is even marginally useful.

Gotta have that healthy dollop of INFP self-deprecating humour...

There was a 66 year old INTP on another forum who, when someone asked him to guess one of the other INTPs' ages, laughed and said "are you kidding me? You can't tell an INTPs age by the way they write!"

I myself guessed that he was in his late 20s, before he told me. I think the Ti tends to be firmly in place by about 12 or 13 at the latest, which makes us look/sound a whole lot older than we are (since it's responsible for the understanding, logic, etc, and works on the concept level, which is, for some reason, stereotypically associated with age. For some reason people think "kids memorize, but adults analyze." They probably haven't met many of us).

it's cool though. What we lack in intellectual immaturity, we make up for in emotional outbursts and abysmal stress management skills.

Yeah, in forums, people usually think I'm in my 30s due to my vocabulary. They don't catch on that I'm a teenager until I talk about high school and my social naivete.

It doesn't help that I talk like I write and look a few years older than I am. :o

Also, my best friend is an INTP, and I love you guys. *huggle*

Wait, what? An INTJ hugs INTP? I sense a disturbance in the force...

But anyway, welcome to the Halls of Madness. May you find here whatever you look for.

I practiced long and hard at developing my "F" (and my "E", for that matter,) but it was worth it in the end...

Thank you for the welcome.

I'm a God playing at being human. 'I' am not any type, but I sometimes assume one at will. I like to be able to put clothes on and take them off as well, you know?
