Has anyone else read this book?
I'm currently 100 or so pages in, (please don't spoil anything for me!) at the part where Holloway and his team come in to explore the hallway. So far it's been very enjoyable. Not only am I fond of the quirky writing style, but I'm actually really into the story. This is also one of the first horror books I've read that's actually frightened me (I refuse to read any time but night), and I've actually, for once, felt sad for a character, from when I read all the letter that Johnny Truant recieved from his insane mother.

Mark Danielewski.

The story is centered around a house that, for some reason (I'm not sure if it's explained, as I'm not very far) that changes on the inside, and the interior dimensions expand and shrink, while the exterior remains the same. There are also random hallways and such that appears, and at the part where I'm at, there's a hallway in the wall at the back of the house, and it continues on, with more hallways, and large rooms and chambers, and even a spiral staircase that descends into an abyss.

What makes the novel bizzare is that it's told from different perspectives, which can be sometimes confusing. The part you read is a report written about the film documentary that the house's owner made about the abnormalities. There are are autobiographical interjections from the character currently readin the book, and they're stories about what's going on in his life, and you can see how his obession with the report is driving him crazy.

It also has a very unconventional way of writing. Pages are sometimes askew and nonsensical, one good example being this:

So yeah, it's an interesting read, and I'd definitely reccomend it to anyone.

that actually does sound interesting, though I don't normally read fiction. And I'm digging your Los Campesinos! avatar, though I prefer their We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed album. :)

Ha ha, thank you.
I have We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed, but admittedly I haven't listened to it much yet.
