Some aspects, i suppose its bad because im deprived of my friends company but it can be taxing but also pleasant. To explain im going into year 11 so im a bit apprehensive about upping the ante you know? Also the fact that year 12 starts instead of a fourth term of year 11, means that im that much closer into stepping into the great beyond....

It also gives me time to play my games, go for runs etc nice leisurely activities. Why would i want to trade that in for... "Shudders" english assignments. That might not sound bad but the curriculum i have to put up with has made it so almost all english in senior year is about feeling and shit. As im sure your aware that can be difficult

Oh I see. Its the typical young person wanting to get out of doing homework thing. Yeah I totally get that. I recommending trying to pay attention to your teacher who is teaching literature. Those ones usually have some things on the ball. Of course they also usually have just as many issues.

My advice: learn from everyone, anyone. If you have your eyes open you can learn a lot from people. Its my primary source of information. I listen to anyone I can ask a question to.

Haha, I'm sounding like an old man. I'm not, but to you I am. Most High school teachers are not super intelligent but they make up for it in their willingness to want to help. Learn from them before it is too late.

I do from all my subjects and in all subjects i reap the benefits of that attention but i just cant come to grips witht he feeling section in english, didnt help that my teachers didnt ecplain to those that didnt understand.

I also hated when they waffled on about "your interpretation" and by all intents and purposes if what i say is kinda close to the actual thing then it should be fine. For them it wasnt. I got shot down, mocked and humiliated more than once. It was very unpleasant. Bot to mention that even after i managed to pay attention for a whole year of that hell i still dont understand it. Thank you for letting me vent quicktwist and from your pic on that other page you do not look like someone i would consider old.

Awww... I've always had problems like that with theatre types. I think that having problems with all teachers is a pretty common thing for INPs. I've always loved reading and writing, but when I get in the classroom... yep! Conflict always start brewing! The only subjects in which I've never had teacher or student conflicts are philosophy, pottery, middle school book club, dance, physics and chemistry. If you ever need help with English, maybe we can assist you. I used to have many troubles with critical reading until my dad showed me how it was as precise and objective as math.

I'm stoked about returning to class next semester though! The holidays are great, but I just picked a new major and can't wait to delve in. Man, did I have a hard time last semester... thank Christ for The Gopher. LOL

Holidays in general make my mood take a big dip. Prospects for family get-togethers go up, which I don't like. Fancier/unusual/"better" food is usually eaten, which I don't care for (I eat rice, frozen veggies and milk 3x a day). Buying and receiving presents, I just find silly.

During the holidays, I "retreat" into an extra ponderous and analytical version of my already ponderous and analytical self, often to the point of discomfort -- both mine and others'.

I was just reflecting on how I have said hurtful things to people in the past and at the time I was thinking I was doing that to you. I don't know what caused me to be put on that train of thought but if you didn't feel I said anything to put you off and no harm was done than I can understand why my post looked confusing and in fact it looked confusing to me in hindsight as well.

Winter holidays bah.

A dark sucking hole of hunger and debilitation. People you don't particularly care for hanging around and squawking like crows "but we're are family". They suck the last few drops of life out of you just as you hit the low point in the year. The dark days. The time of death, energy's ebb, and the life giving rays of light are in full retreat.

You are mugged of every last ounce of human warmth existing in your soul. In exchange you are given the paltry brightly colored plastic flotsam and jetsam of our newly founded industrial society. At best you can hope for an ugly sweater that is at least utilitarian. Or some socks.

Then they leave you bereft of all strength or warmth. You are weak. You feebly dig in and dig deep. You bury yourself in the fertile knowledge that spring will come. Light will creep back. The energy will flow again.

But for now, you have to wait.
