That was a horrible test.

I think I know people who would score 20+

I got a 16.

As a side note, I bet there are lots of INFJs who show up as "highly sensitive."

12/27.

However, most of that is probably due to the repetition of the "loud noises" question. The littlest noise which breaks my concentration is enough to make me go haywire, cover my ears, and run for the nearest headphones.

Yes, there were a lot of questions in that category and I really can't handle much "stimulation" like that. Which is what it is... stimulation that basically overloads me. I can't handle noise very long.

I scored 16/27, mostly because I hate loud noises and being overwhelmed.

These questions are sort of dumb I think:
"I am annoyed when people try to make me do too many things at once" that pisses anyone off. "I am distracted by loud noises" "I don't particularly enjoy to step in dogshit." etc... Anyway, I scored 14.

With my 23/27 I fit the HSP bill fairly well too I'm afraid : /

I also recall recognizing my own problems in the description of those that constitute HSPD.

Fuck that noise. There's nothing wrong with being highly sensitive. Life is a bit tougher in this culture built for SPs and SJs, but it's hardly a disorder in-and-of itself. We are what we are, and that's OK. We all have enough legitimate shortcomings without making a disorder out of every deviation from the norm.

(This post is intended to sound encouraging)

Exemplify and/or explain, I don't get it, some of them sure but a majority have naught to do with it? I see a ton of special limitations there as well.

And besides there's gonna be a statistical correlation between HPS and Introversion and eccentricity, how would that special not slip in? We're talking about a deviation.

slight edit:

1. Do you possess X mundane sensorimotor drawback which just happens to indicate a disproportionately large cognitive gift?

2. Do you possess Y mundane sensorimotor drawback which just happens to indicate a disproportionately large cognitive gift?

3. Do you possess Z mundane sensorimotor drawback which just happens to indicate a disproportionately large cognitive gift?

Why did you need to look at the test to know that? It's a HSP test, the issue is hardly the questions which the test asks, whatever the issue is.

did i look?

well of course the diagnosis is inherently problematic but i imagine there are smarter questions to ask and smarter ways to read the results than to just sum them up.

this is no revolutionary criticism and i never claimed that it was.
