Okay, so here goes...

Socionics types me as ESTP... although in MBTI I should technically type ESTJ....I'm more inclined to say even in MBTI I lean more towards ESTP. So...I shall type myself as ESTP.

Although I have a strong interest in science...I generally preffer to involve myself (career wise) in positions of authority....such as military (i'm former military) and policing (my future career)....bah, maybe i'll even go work for the govt as a spy or some kick-ass job where there is minimal paperwork involved. (ya ya for all those "but all jobs have paperwork"....you know what i mean).

I work and function best under last-minute situations, and generally don't like to have too-long term of plans. I live in the here and the now, and therefore, I like to make my decisions ...here...and now.

I live with my head in the clouds, a foot firmly planted on the ground with a whip in my right hand and a pina-colada in the other. I think that best descirbes me personality wise...(i think i might use that as my signature...hmm).

Anywho..just wanted to say to all you INTPs and others on here.

I come to learn more about INTPs...as...well, I'm interested in one...but have no clue generally when it comes to the oposite sex when I'm seriously interested in them. Not too in tune with my own emotions...so I'm seeking out advice so I can plan my conquest!! JK...sorta.

Now that's one type I never expected to see here.... I'd think we'd bore the hell out of either type of ES_P. What makes you interested in an INTP? We're probably one of the least entertaining types out there...

also (I can't believe I'm saying this, after so many IN__s got it wrong): Socionics and MBTI don't usually J/P switch for extroverted sensors . An ESTp in socionics should be an ESTP in MBTI as well. There's some debate over whether or not they swich for introverted sensors, and I think most people say they switch for introverted intuitives, but I don't think I've seen anyone say they switch for extroverts of either type.

I'm assuming you know an INTP who is the source of this fascination and have thus come here seeking a means to understand him. However if your "fishing" for INTPs, well as I mentioned before we are a paranoid sort; don't expect names or locations to be easily forthcoming.

No. Socionics gets the E types right. It's only the I types that have P/J flipped.

But either way, Socionics is not a perfect match for MBTI and trying to convert from one to the other might result in confusion.
