I've been reading about the MBTI system for several months now, and though I'm still not quite sure of my type (my friend says INTP), I love the posts on this forum and decided to join. :)
Anyway, I figured I should introduce myself before randomly popping up in these threads. Good to meet all of you!

So, do you think an INTP would really find such formalities neccessary?
Active Fe? I didn't find it necessary, but it seemed to be an appropriate social gesture. You will notice that I was reluctant enough to withhold personal information. But I might be an F for all I know! :p

I agree with Tony3d
How is this post of relevance?
You also said you aren't sure about your personality type, but you don't make a point. Where is the clarification?

And "before popping up randomly in threads". Do you worry we make judgement about you or?

Also, if you read this thread as offensive. You are most probably not an INTP.

Eh, why so serious? :cat:

Some INTPs I know...love recognitions, they like to do the attention whoring acts often. :phear:

I don't think he acted like he think this thread offended him.

Hmm, I don't really understand your question here... And yes, I take people serious.

I think you misinterpreted my post. I was genuinely asking him if he worries about us (Some people on the internet) making judgement about him (Another random on the internet).
Which to me also seem a little nonsense. And yes, I'm naturally interested in that of what I don't (yet) understand.

I don't think he acted like he think this thread offended him.
Neither did I, but as he stated himself. He might as well be an F type. My approach to finding that out (For his own sake, yeah I integrate my Fe as well :D) was writing something that shall be taken in depersonalized.

Ok, I was just curious ;)

INTPs are usually not all that big on formalities or following social guidlines unless there is a logical advantage of doing so.

Just something for you to think about in your journey to understanding you own mind.

Maybe it's only the INTPs that I know, but one of big differences between me and them is that they're better in doing the "social things". It's not about "following" social guidelines, it's because they're kinda like to get some attentions and to be liked.
troll detected :phear: :D

Not sure though, only know y'all on the internet forums, never meet an INTP IRL. :phear:
Everything can happen behind the screen.

I have gotten a lot more capable of doing these so called 'social things' because I have realized the logical advantage that it gives me over people who are not able to be sociable and meet new people that could potentially help make your life better.

I also am incredibly curious. The same way I am driven to trying to understand art, I am driven to understand people and how their minds work.

I am however by my very nature very introverted, and would still perfer to spend 5 days out of the week alone.

But anyways, I do not thing that it is an INTP ve INTJ thing, I think it is all a matter of how extream you are on the introverted vs extroverted scale. All the INTPs that I know that are extreamly introverted have basically no social skills to speak of, but the ones that come closer to being ENTPs are usually quite good at playing by the rules... or should I say bending the rules to suit their needs... in social situations.

INTP = absent-minded.
INTJ = narrow-minded.
I don't know, but I guess the INTPs can do the superficial flattery way better than INTJs.

Whatever, the point is... you can't judge someone's type only because he wrote that he should introduce himself before randomly popping up in the threads.
In fact, typing people online is way far from accurate. Once, I typed a friend as INTP only based on his attitudes on internet forum, but after I know him better... I realize that he's not a "T" at all. :D

Well, I was just throwing in some food for thought, so he could consider it and decide what type he thinks he is.

I have zero interest in typing this guy, only in throwing out random bits of logic and seeing how the peices fall. I just find people interesting and like to know what they are thinking.

If you actually go Night streaking then you're most likely not INTP. but then again, it could just be a username.

This is a little late, but your response is worth thinking about. I think I passingly mentioned doubt regarding my type just as a heads-up, which ties into what you're asking about judgement. I've seen some INTPs "ruthlessly" (i.e., honestly, though for some reason I interpret it that way) and thoroughly arguing a point, which intimidates me and is not something I do often. I've always been hyperaware of how people might perceive me, and wanted make the observation that I might not be an INTP after all as a defense(?) against being called illogical and/or non-linear, which I often seem to be.
It's very difficult for me to put my thoughts in order. :slashnew: I usually devolve in incoherence when trying to explain something.
Oh, and I fit parts of the INFJ/INFP profiles, though I remain unsure (I'm generally indecisive in this way; I don't like the thought of having missed some important bit of information and ending up being wrong). I can tell you more about this if you're interested (I love figuring out how people think too!), but I'll refrain from going into detail.

Also, if you read this thread as offensive. You are most probably not an INTP.

I do find it somewhat offensive, though I recognize your objectivity. I will have to consider that. Feelings have never been rational, though.

I guess the INTPs can do the superficial flattery way better than INTJs.

I actually do that a lot... I feel bad for being so inauthentic but relations go smoother this way! It might a distancing mechanism.

I do, don't I? Perhaps you're right...

Just trying to mock the individuals who either jokingly or seriously(I can't tell, embarassing) state that an individual who introduces themselves on this forum is not an INTP.
