Hi, my real name is Dorothea, I am 27 and live near Nottingham, UK.

God, this feels like intros at summer camp.

Urm, let's see, I am in a relationship with a rather depressed ENFP; fairly organised, which my mum still can't believe; I like gardening, archery, hiking, reading, the internet, Lynx, purple, RPGs, jigsaws; and i find it really hard to capitalise myself.
Oh and apparently i qualify as benefit scrounging scum(Thanks to EDS 3).

So yeah, err, hi ?

I googled EDS 3 and found something about drainage systems.....Must be a Brit thing ;) (no need to explain really if you don't want to)

Welcome, have fun.

Thanks for the welcomes.

EDS 3 stands for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome type 3. Aka the hypermobility type. Aka Hypermobility Syndrome. It's one of those things where no one can agree how to call or classify it, not to mention finding someone who actually is happy to treat it.

Welcome Dorothea. Glad to have someone across the 'big water' joining us :D

Haha, it's not that bad. No mosquitos at least.

I hope things work out. We're here if you ever want to talk about anything.

BTW, are you actively involved in archery? I wanted to do that for a long time, but I'm not quite sure where to start. Any tips or pointers that you can share?

Welcome Linada... nice name.

I also intend taking up archery ...as part of some life-constructive therapy.

There's nothing quite like hitting a target. :D

Look forward to see you round the boards.

Unfortunately i can't do any proper archery at the moment. My shoulder joints just don't want to cooperate.
I agree, nothing quite like hitting the target. Also nothing quite like hunting for stray arrows in hedgerows. ;)

If you want to get started with archery, you should be able to find a local archery club online. As an olympic sport it is reasonably well organised. Density of clubs varies of course. Any club should have a few beginners bows to have a try with. Bows start at about £30, but you will need new ones as you get stronger. If you do stick with it, you will have to get your own. I havn't heard of anywhere that actually lends out bows in the longer term.

I used to do archery. However I did it only with a friend outside of a club and we made our bows ourselves. I think it's a huge difference to the olympic archery.
