I've been lurking on this forum for a while now, and figured 'why not join this forum?'
So yeah, tah-dah!

I'm a 15 year old guy(turning 16 this month actually, how exciting), did a MBTI test last year and this year, and both told me I'm an INTP, which seems right. Except that I do like to talk a lot, but only if in the mood or if the subject interests me haha.

I found this forum because I was trying to find out how often INTPs become artists, and if INTPs are less likely to be religious, and if different personality types have different reactions to drugs like cannabis and alcohol. I found all my answers here (:

I might post some drawings/art or however you may call it in the Visual Arts section now...

Wasn't there something about the tests not being accurate to your older? Anyway congrats for finding this place. Your journey into questioning everything will begin shorty. Meanwhile enjoy the soothing sounds of my awesome piano rifting. Interests / hobbies? I can already tell you have a creative mind and just want to share it with the world.

Hm yes, you'd say that. Being still in puberty and all... It could change a little, but I'm fairly sure I've always been an INTP. I've also felt that I can communicate better with people a few years older than me. A lot of people in the same grade seem very immature usually, not sure if that's a typical INTP thing though, ha. Analyzing and questioning everything is all I ever do really. Piano? Soothing!
Interests and hobbies are uhm... Astronomy, psychology, philosophy, drawing/painting, daydreaming, impersonation, acting, analyzing large crowds of people and maybe a little Neurology, but just a little.

Thanks for the warm welcome (:

he means that. Not two months into this forum, and I basically outright rejected anything I ever knew as right... an amazing journey. I hope you should be able to participate.

You must understand the subtle nuances of humans. Though I, too, mostly have more interesting conversations with adults, the fact remains that I barely have any interesting conversations at all. People simply aren't interested in the topics we're interested in. But what they are interested in works for them.

Anyway, interesting interests. I suppose you are into art then? For what reason?

Yeah, that's true I guess. We all live in our own universe... Are you referring to people as people who aren't INTPs? But what are we then? Aliens? Robots?
I'm very much into art, because it seems like it's the only consistent thing I've always liked doing in life, it's just a nice way of expressing myself. I hope I can pursue a career in art. Although I'd also be interested in studying psychology and/or philosophy.

I'm more into science and math, but art and philosophy are interesting as well (even though I mostly look at art from a philosophical viewpoint, and don't do much myself).

No, I think INTP's very much are humans (however much we may hate to admit it...), but every human is unique. I'm not going to say that INTP's are more unique than most, but they certainly have many aspects which the masses of society do not have. For me, though, being human has very specific and detrimental effects. I try to not be human as much as often.

I see what you mean, but usually I have no problems at all with being human. Although the extreme emotions can be very stupid. Like anger, worry, regret or sadness. They're so pointless. I thoroughly enjoy the happy emotions however!
I feel like most of us just live life observing how we go through it. Not in some sort of depersonalization-like way, but still, just observing how we react to things. Like there's always some calm observer in me who disapproves of my anger when I'm angry, yet I keep being angry because I feel an urge to at that moment.
This thread is kind of drifting off from it's original purpose, but it's very interesting haha.

(Also, where does your name come from? What does PB stand for?)

I wasn't talking about emotions at all. I indulge in my emotions when they arise, though I am almost impervious to anger and joy. I definitely look at the universe and its occurrences from how other things affect people, and I therefore try to have as little an effect on people as possible.

Do not worry if something becomes what it was not intended to be. It is inevitably, and, in some cases, necessary. Anyway, the pb stands for paintball... worst. name. ever.

Oh good. The thought of Playboy dude crossed my mind :p
I don't see how you can try to be non-human then though?

Mostly desires. Anything other than emotions which you would consider human, that is what I am talking about. Emotions are beautiful, in some cases. Most everything else, I see as destructive and detrimental.

Hello,
I am new here. I found this interesting as many topics are there from where I can gain things and share my ideas.

A shame you only get one first impression dalemurray87. I kid because I love. Seriously though, you should probably introduce yourself on your own thread. Making threads isn't a crime or nuthin'http://www.intpforum.com/member.php?u=3952
