Hello.
I'm just making a formal post to get myself going.
If you want to know anything just ask. I don't mind questions; I actually prefer them since I generally dislike prattling on and on about myself. Perhaps when I get more information posted in my profile you can snoop around there instead.

INTP's are quite good at picking up new languages, i think.

Welcome anyway.

Hmmm, a question...? What music do you enjoy?

preilemus- Most of my interests involve learning of some kind. I have this long list of things I need to learn. I've barely dented it! I love science of almost any kind. I'm also very... domestic? I love to bake and cook and scrapbook. I like to paint with oil paint and I wish to learn how to draw sometime. I can somewhat play the violin; I took lessons for 5 years and when I have the funds I plan to pick it back up. I have a pretty broad range of interest so what I have said hardly covers it. :)
I'm not fluent in any language besides my native American English, but I know a little bit of several languages. My favorite so far is Japanese which I took 3 years of in high school. It was my favorite class! Starting school in a few days I'm actually going to be starting to learn Russian.

RubberDucky451-You are right about being able to pick up languages easily. I can say that it's one of the things that I'm best at. I love to bug foreigners for words in their language. For music.... everything from opera to metal to techno/trance with my preference being..... rock? I'm not very good at classifying music. I love Depeche Mode, Rammstein, old school Smashing Pumpkins, Goldfrapp, Maximum the Hormone, Orgy.... and .. some other stuff. Too much to list. ;)

ive always considered painting as the archetypical form of artistical expression. sadly, i've never really gotten into it. unless you count model painting, which i dont.

and ive never been good with languages. i took spanish from 2nd grade to 8th, but i never really learned anything, and then i took 3 years of french, but i didnt exactly like it. i try to think that maybe i just need to find a language I can like, before i throw the towel over the shoulder, so to speak.

also, music is one of my favorite things. do you have a preference for certain types of metal, or do you just like the genre in general?

Yes, perhaps you just need to find a language that you find interesting. I took a year of Spanish and switched to Japanese because Spanish was simply uninteresting to me.
As for metal, I won't say it's my favorite but I do like some Amon Amarth, Novembre and a few others . I'm not particularly fond of Vital Remains, but I have respect for Dave Suzuki.

if you like opera, i would suggest checking out some power metal bands, particularly Nightwish, and Kamelot's later albums, like The Black Halo. admittedly, it's alot more metal than it is opera, but there is definitely a symphonic feel to alot of works within that subgenre

Oh well, I already love Nightwish.. well.. Tarja Nightwish anyway. I also like Kamelot's music... but the vocals of Roy Khan, I believe, tend to grate my nerves sometimes. Thank you for the suggestions though. ;)

Well... I like Roy Khan's vocals and I know he has an amazing voice but when I hear them I'm reminded of something.. cheesier... like.. Journey. lol I also like Journey though. Strange.

Russian looks so gorgeous in a typographical sense. <3

Doesn't it though? I really like the fact that it has a different alphabet, as does Japanese. Also.. well... I think Russian is kinda sexy.

I know! I wish i could learn either of them but learning a new alphabet is so daunting. Russian has 33 letters :P I find a lot of typefaces sexy, Avant garde, futura and century gothic are all very similar yet still sexy :)

Like snowqueen I'm wondering if that's your real hair? If so I'm a redhead too D:

snowqueen and RubberDucky451: Thank you, but this is not my natural colour. When it's fresh and in real life, it is MUCH brighter.

Oh and RubberyDucky451-Russian is so awesome. I say you should go for it!
