Hey, I'm female, 23, INTP, and undertaking a degree in political science.
I chose mine because like 90% of the people know in real life cannot and do not comprehend how the world is run, or by whom. I figure it's about time the 'people' started educating themselves, and as a true enneagram 8 wing, I'll lead by example.
Coincidently, of the 500 students I started the year with only two of us were undertaking politics, whilst 498 were going into psychology -_-
I must admit, I was furiously fed up with politics a few months ago at the last election in the UK. It was completely rigged. Fighting a loosing battle for sure, but fight I will as it's in my blood.
In the last week or so with this forum being down I took the extra time to read Mein Kampf and also a book called 'After the Peace - Loyalist Paramilitaries in Post-Accord Northern Ireland' by Carolyn Gallaher, an American Political Scientist.
Both books synchronistically presented them selves to me within the space of two days.
I'm from a Belfast Catholic background, and although I was reading about the Loyalist perspective, the author done an excellent job in educating me on most things 'Troubles' related. I was thankful, the education was needed. My Irish family refused to properly educate us kids on their history from home.... Presumably because the events are so traumatic. My family were/are embedded up to their neck in the main storylines. I've just began my Catholic perspective reading now, starting with Gerry Adams, Before the Dawn.
Some parallels could be drawn from Mien Kampf and the Loyalist book due to Nationalism being the centre of debate.
Was quite funny when I was reading Kampf, I got 100 pages in and told my friend laughingly that so far, I couldn't knock anything Hitler had said, and that I would inform my friend how far I could make it through the book before alarm bells started ringing... Haha.
I made it up to about 250-260 pgs before Hitler became to 'radical' for me
