Introductions are always awkward for me in person, so that's one thing about me. Most of the rest follows from a reserved, contemplative nature.

I am in school, and the sciences interest me. I am most at home dealing with theory, philosophy, and mathematics. I am not an expert in any of those, but hope that I one day will be. Knowledge, truth, and a definite, coherent personal philosophy are my goals. I do not desire power or control anymore than I wish to be controlled. I struggle with finding direction, social norms, and self-doubt (fear of scrutiny is the only thing that really gets me agitated).

"The Grey Man" is a nickname of mine attributable to my nondescript, seemingly unemotional presence in group settings.

That about covers everything, without going into too much detail.

Howdie!!

Welcome. Step right up to the greatest forum in the world.

I was gonna do a circus theme, but fuck it.

Root Beer or Ginger Ale?

Vodka or Whiskey?

Nature or Nurture?

Splendid. You have validated my presence here. We may be kindred spirits. Also, that Thomas poem is very evocative. Best of luck on your pursuits!

Welcome. Step right up to the greatest forum in the world.

Nature or Nurture?

Ah, all good questions.

Hmm...ginger ale.

I like me some whiskey, but have never tried vodka. I went drinking once, with friends. Highly enjoyable and relaxing. Would do so again.

This last question is tricky. I'm going to say nature initially (instantaneously), however also nurture, insofar as external can affect internal nature.

The universe and I have this in common: both of us are moving irrepressibly toward equilibrium. In fact, anything I do is evidence of my adjustment to the ceaseless alteration of the parameters of my equilibrious state, attributable to and an element of (as the effects it has on my immediate surroundings, and ultimately the universe, therefore completing a loop) that which is currently taking place on a larger, and ultimately universal scale.

The parameters of universal equilibrium do not change. However, in order for those conditions to be met, those analogous of mine must change.

Thus, nurture and nature are not competitive; nurture defines nature, which is in turn an element of nurture. The two are continuously connected. Imagine a lopsided infinity sign: nurture is by far the greater half.

Nature = Current state of one's past version of their instantaneous path toward equilibrium (that path is ceaselessly altered by nurture)
Nurture = Universal equilibrious dynamics (affected by nature somewhat)

(I could draw a schematic and upload it. I do enjoy making models of things.)

*Whoa...think about what your equilibrium state would be...now. Yep, you're dead.

*My notions of nature and nurture do not allow for quantum indeterminism, extra-universal forces, or any such thing.

Guess all those non american speakers will finally have to call me Grayman* instead of Greyman.

At least I have "grey" and "man" as two separate words (which is actually sort of inconsistent with the rapidity of their pronunciation in the past).

Absurdism, from the outside.

However, once I get to the point where I accept that I am a human being, things take a different turn. From there, there's a lot of contemplation on the nature of human nature, contentment and morality, and this really touches just about every topic.

I'm also interested in interpretations of quantum physics.
