Well I think the best thing to start with is explaining how I learned of my positively awesome affliction. I was in class and Uni and I think it was for business management and we all had to take a test. You know the one. There were many hats...

I thought nothing of my result at the time, and until recent still had not over the last three years or so. In the last year I became interested in personalities as I was trying to figure out why I was so different, and what was the meaning of it all. I drunkenly took some tests and ended up with INTP /T and again thought nothing of it, and continued life as normal.

Then I think a suggested post on Facebook brought me to taking another test, subsequently the same on but a year later, and I get the same result, INTP /t. Spooked after reading afew paragraphs, I read on and learn that the reason why I am so different is because I am.. The entire article written about my personality type was correct.

And then I found an ebook about it and got a link to this forum, so here I am.

My name is Sam, I am working on my own start up, while simultaneously creating a new firearm suppressor, working on a mod as a weapon designer and I quit uni to pursue creative freedom. Other than that I like art, drawing, 3d modelling, cyberpunk, programming, software and web development, philosophy, creative writing, design and the human condition. But I hate the start up scene, conformity and inferiority. I also worry that you may think that I came along and am formulating these point to convince you I'm INTP.. And am in fact am an imposer. Yeah my brain is weird..

Seems odd to me. When I was at college the only time anyone seemed to bring up MBTI was when my roommate's psych professors would all call out MBTI for being shit.

That outlook is quite profound. I like it! It's like labels do not form the perceived structure the world relies upon, and that there are just shades of grey outlining competence etc

Yeah it was for some tech oriented management course I can't remember the name of now. It was used to divide people into teams comprised of different personalities.

Impose in anything I know of? Hustler, playboy? My brain is completely normal. It's my MBTI results that made me turn out this way. Superstition is REAL, I didn't knock on wood once after someone said i was crazy and look what fuckin happened..

Welcome, it feels wonderful to finally have a group to associate with, right? We can finally have our badge like the rest of the extroverts, ours happens to be INTP, which sets us free! Don't forget to flip off authority figures, dismiss normalities with narcissistic remarks, smoke drugs and eat frozen dinners. Just kidding. This is just what I expect from others.

What programming languages are you currently studying?

You know what. It's just a relief to know that after all these years of thinking I was weird and different, my personality was to blame and not some weird and unidentified psychological disorder that would prevent me from functioning in society. I by no means think there is only one way to exist in society under predefined norms, but for a long time I though I was an outcast, unable to function in society at all. This realisation just provides a base identity from which I can grow.

Haha, I absolutely hate authority, and smoke like a chimney, but thankfully only smoke cigarettes and nothing that can completely destroy your life before you have lived it.

As for lists of programming languages, I like them all, and any I don't know can be easly learned through an understanding of the shared principals that underpin computer science in general. But mainly C, C++, Ruby, Java and Python. But I also like the front end so am heavily design oriented as well while being proficient in HTML, CSS, and JS, but these are hardly skills worth mentioning. I also love 3d modelling, weapons design, space, technology in general and a whole list of others.

Professionaly I am developing a site called Vertprt, and am designing weapons for a Deus Ex mod called GMDX, and acronym for Give Me Deus Ex. I am sure this sentence will make all of you want to reinstall and play the game again. The weapons I'm designing all conform to a self imposed design mandate, that targets a sweet spot of aesthetics that ensures that all possible influences are catered for, while keeping a horde of fuming ultra puritan fan boys resistant to all changes to vanilla are even satisfied, though my primary prerogative is not to conform to their pathetic senses of satisfaction by any means. I have also spent more than a decade in Command and Conquer modding circles, but have been relatively unsuccessful in making something worth while.

I had the same experience with personality types. In grade 5 I took one of these tests and got INTP, but thought nothing of it. Took it again in highschool, INTP again. Just a, "that's funny" moment. When I started college to become an ECE I took more of an interest in personalities and eventually wound up here after researching the theory intensely. (And taking numerous online tests)
