Hey there, I'm known by several names but you can just call me Ploss. I currently live in south florida, and I'm 21 years old.
I'm an orthodox rabbinical student with heavy knowledge of jewish mysticism i.e. kabbalah and chassidus.
I give classes to people in the community about kabbalah and modern physics.

My main goal in joining this forum is to meet highly intellectual folk with whom to share ideas. I'm also fluent in three languages. Any questions or comments are welcome.

Welcome!

What books do you recommend I read as someone completely new to kabbalah and Jewish mysticism? I minored in world religions/philosophy at university but we only gave Jewish mysticism a cursory glance.

Also, how did you discover our forum and decide to join it? Do you know much about MBTI?

Thanks to you all for the warm welcome.

Welcome!

Any of these: http://innermedia.bstcenter.org/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3
(Particularly "Kabbalah and Meditation for the Nations", there is an intro to the book you can read online http://www.inner.org/nonjews/intro.htm)
They are all by Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh who is a kabbalist and also has a doctorate in mathematics and philosophy.

You should also check out some of his classes online, I'll throw you a link. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6764641340295109914#
This one is really worth watching all the way through. It will keep any INTP on the edge of their seat, or at least that was the case by me.

A few years ago I took an MBTI in college and I ended up doing some research on it and found it very interesting. Having read about it has given me some grasp on how each temperament is determined, but I have researched mainly the INTP as a way to learn how to better/transcend myself in different ways.
I found this forum in a regular google search, and as I mentioned earlier I decided to join to meet like-minded people with whom to exchange ideas.

As a child in Argentina I went to a private school, then when we moved to south florida I went to a public school at first then did high school in a private school, after that I spent some years in yeshiva in new york and did some college back in south florida as well. All the home schooling I got was my dad teaching me chess and other self-learning.

Welcome!
If you are so unfortunate as to not find intelligence here, I'll at least guarantee you enthusiasm for genius.
