Most falls under some category related to post-rock or post-metal but I'm more looking for specific kind of mood progression and hypnotic build up of tension. Dark epic walls of sound with a hint of sorrow. Think of icebergs falling into the sea. Some vocals are okay but I prefer instrumental.

I liked the first two a lot, but whether the mood passed, or there was some actual difference in the music, I did not enjoy what came after.

Doom metal - (Keywords: sorrow, buildup, mood progression, wall-of-sound).

Sorry. It says the video you posted isn't available in my country.

The stuff I posted after the first two require a bit of patience. You really have to hear the whole thing to appreciate it because the progression is rather slow. If you're not in the mood I can see how they might sound tedious. For me 10-20 minute epic instrumentals are good for a long car ride or if I'm bored in bed having trouble getting to sleep.

Some of what I posted is funeral/doom or stoner/sludge metal but I have a really hard time separating the wheat from the chafe when it comes to metal genres. YOB only really has the one song I posted that I like. Their other stuff is kinda meh. Same goes of a lot of doom metal bands. I find an interesting track mixed in here and there with a lot of boring stuff that all sounds the same to me.

I think Ufomammut is awesome but they take a lot of patience. It is meditative metal. Walls of concrete noise that slowly suck you into it.

Check out Boards of Canada - An Eagle In Your Mind

Great band. Very hypnotic indeed, their album 'Geogaddi' will get you tripping.
