i'm a prize in a cereal box near you, so buy, BUY,
is there a way to trick the heat sensors in my hp pavilion g6 2249wm with windows 7 to register a higher temp than what it actually is? the reason i ask is because there aren't any programs to directly control my fan speed (yes i've tried speedfan and every variant i could find), so i figured tricking my computer could work.

You basement
Wiring them to power directlywould make them on all the time if that is what you want.

The only way I would know how to do that is to put something hot where the register is. Why would you want to make the fan speed higher if your temps are fine? You can always go the water cooling route...

i had considered that, though i would rather go with a software approach before i move to futzing with the hardware.

they are fine when not gaming but the fans don't kick in until it gets a bit too hot for my likeing, and setting them up to be premptive would solve this

Lower the graphics settings? Don't know what to tell you. Laptops suck for gaming generally.

In the video below, the guy says that you can download "AMD Overdrive", and it works for your processor (a6 4400m). It's meant for overclocking I guess.

But I see there's options in the AMD Overdrive application for "Fan Control". Perhaps, it's something else you could try. (Though, it probably not a good idea to overclock)

Here's the link to the video:

i did try it and the fan options don't come up, from what i read most laptops don't allow for fan manipulation not even with 3rd party software.

Why do you want to control your fan speed?

nothing serious just trying to tweek it for personal preference

Get a desktop to game on... make it yourself, problem solved.

gee why didn't i think of that :beatyou:, but in all seriousness i don't have the money for that (and probably won't for a while) but i do plan on making a gaming pc.

Would a cooling pad be sufficient?

If you think you might need a particular one for gaming you could ask here: reddit.com/r/buildapc, much more helpful than other forums.
