I have attended two Comic Cons both in Salt Lake City. It was an interesting experience. Couple highlights meeting celebrities in the building, Adrian Paul from Highlander and Dwight Schultz from A-Team.

Have you attended a Comic Con and what were your expections or highlights?

I haven't been to comic con, but I do go to anime cons. There are four fairly large conventions, in Arizona, a year.

I expect to have fun at them. I have fun at them. I met some musicians, and hung out with a Japanese band. Also, the raves at cons are great, minus some clueless DJ's. A bunch of nerds that aren't really that good at dancing, and are still dancing. It's a fun time for all. The 18+ clubs at the cons are also a great deal of fun.

My favorite part is the cosplay. I like dressing up. I also like see the other people's costumes. :o The girls know what I like :o

I attended a maid cafe once with a bunch of friends. Put on my black leather trench coat and just walked in.

Basically a cosplay restaurant.

Beyond unorganized if you ask me.

You had to pay to get in. I said that my friends had my ticket (Which is what I really thought) so they let me in. I find out they don't, so I just sit there and order my food. I did end up paying since these guys were just starting out, and I also didn't want to be known as the guy who didn't pay.

Overall it cost me 19 dollars included with my 10% discount that you would get if you got photo proof of the character you're cosplaying as. I never brought a photo, nor did I cosplay as anyone.

Gave the clerk 20 dollars, I should get a dollar back in change he ended up giving me 3 dollars.

GG no re saith I

Comics and Anime conventions are not that famous here but I did attend at least one of each. Indie writers are quite talented in both their stories (they're usually using obscure Filipino myths as story flavors so you know they did their research) and their drawing skills. Cosplayers are great too and the pro ladies are quite lovely. The guys are awesome too. I remembered one sported a kickass Chaos Vincent costume.

No, i am more interested in current affairs.

To be fair, the only one I've been to I did get to talk to Bryan Talbot about William Burroughs cut-up method in application to comix, which was pretty cool. :phear:

I guess I could go to Otakon this summer, it's probably about 15 minutes from my house.

I haven't really been to any specifically "comics" conventions, although I did go to GenCon twice in the 90's and would like to start going back out again. I enjoy meeting artists and authors, + on occasion there are fun seminars to attend. I haven't really done any gaming at cons before.

My comics interest has waned a great deal over the years, partly due to money and partly due to lack of interest in properties that are just constantly recycled and rehashed. I pretty much only read graphic novels nowadays (which means books that release to graphic novel format).

That's great.
But there's too much i wholeheartedly reject to theoretically get a chance to have this experience.

I've actually never been into comic books and, so, feel that I could not properly attend a comic con. I love superheros and most of the movies based on the comics, but just couldn't get into comics themselves.

A lot of my friends do cons of one type or another. Been thinking about trying it but then I keep going back to the though of crowds and recoil to my comfort zone.
