hi all

i stumbled on this forum by accident really, so please don't kill me for not knowing much about INTP's... of course i searched the wikipedia a bit on this topic and i found it only slightly interesting sorry, but i just don't have much faith in scientists. i mean they change their believes [? opinions? sorry i'm not native english] more often than i change clothes. uhm... that doesn't sound right... anyway, the concept is interesting to me but nothing more.

i joined this forum because it seemed interesting, and i sometimes need to speak my mind when i'm all alone behind my pc during the night [i work part time, thank god for that]. the only other forums i've joined so far were game related and sorta temporary.

tbh the sf series "Enterprise" lead me to INTPcentral but registering there required me to fill in my INTP type. i didn't know that and i felt really dumb, so i thought "fuck off" with your superiority! then i searched google on INTP, because it still intrigued me a bit, and only then i stumbled on this forum...

Psychology and its variables are barely science, LBH. It too is sort of a foundation built from what others interpret as the current truth (long ago wild kids were just thought of as kids--now they are diagnose-able). These studies do, as you say, seem to change more than you change your clothes, but such is the way of science. Nothing stays the same from the beginning of time. Either you learn more about it and adjust to the new knowledge or reject it and continue to believe what makes you most comfortable. Even technology is something people think of as computers and digital products, but everything that has been created out of nothing and forged the human race to another level of evolution and purpose is technology. The wheel was technology, corsets were technology, toilets were technology...

INTP are just strong thinkers with practical and personal belief systems that don't always mesh with what the world WANTS one to be or portray. Outside-The-Box thinkers if you will.... And at times not only that, but solitary thinkers, meaning that the emotions and connections others so aggressively pursue are not of any value to our existence and if it is, it's genuine--not trite or meaningless jibber jabber among others whose "energy comes from outside forces"--We have all the energy we need.

(I speak solely for myself, I suppose)

BTW, what does scientists have to do with bringing you here?

Maybe if you read about all 16 temperament types, it will make more sense to you?

The problem is, I think, ironically, those who might benefit the greatest from taking the test (for personal growth and development), are not interested in doing so and think the answers are in other people and material happiness.
