The INTP will observe the fragmented scene that she is tasked with assembling and attempt to make connections amongst what is observed in each individual fragment. For example, she may observe half a piano in one piece, and as she assumes the existence of a second piano-half in a separate location in space-time, she will achieve harmony (as she so often does) by seeking to assemble the fractured instrument, having allowed her Ti to make the most logical decision.

The ENTP will follow a similar path, yet as he reaches for the partnered piano puzzle piece, his Ne eyes will alert him of a neighboring piece which depicts the front half of a car. No cause to worry here, right?

Wrong.

As his sullen Ti attempts to claw its way out of the colorful ball-pit abyss that is Ne, he will inadvertently find the other half of the car and ...BOOM! You're lying face-first in a ditch, surrounded by mortal goo, wondering what you did to deserve dying to the ferrous tune of Journey's Don't Stop Believing.

1: of, relating to, or containing iron

Yes, I know what ferrous means. But I didn't see how the song contained iron, either literally or literarily, though on reflection perhaps the midnight train ran on an iron road. Nevertheless, I was charmed by the description and wondered what you meant by it. My response was admittedly frivolous.

Ok. It's my attempt at an esoteric synonym for irony, the literary device we all know and love. Also, thanks for being the one person to comment on this! Instead of wondering whether I'm crazy, you were able to confirm it, and really, that is all I could hope for.

You're saying that if you saw half a piano, you wouldn't try to find the other half? :p

Or at least, set it aside and keep an eye out while you're looking for those edges.

Maybe I would, but not really on any conscious level, at least until I had the border completed. They're the easiest pieces to find, and to assemble, and once I have a solid base (so to speak) then I begin to assemble the rest. I'll need to assemble the piano portion eventually, and if anything finding its companion piece would be easier with all the border pieces out of the equation.
