youtube is a place where we can test how people receive us or whatever part of us (including intellect) we choose to show in videos. we reach a larger audience than in real life and feedback is more honest.

we can experiment with presenting us 'favorably', or we can experiment with exposing complete authenticity and spontaneity, despite any social anxiety that may inhibit us in real life.

should a Ni dom not value and grant the developmental potential of such experimentation?

somtimes the overconfidence of people may be embarrassing, in a sense, but this human flaw is in no way specific to youtube and the more professional presentations are, the more harmful the overestimation/incompetence is. obvious amateurs will do the least damage to culture, so leave britney alone.

just because you replace TV with youtube doesn't mean the purpose of youtube is your perfect infotainment.

The problem is not the retards who spew crap, it's the fact that they mix with the decent and the real deal. If youtube just had a better system for categorizing videos this problem could be resolved.

I don't see how that could be technically possible, how would youtube know who knows their shit? Magazines serve the purpose of selecting interesting authors. Maybe we will have video magazines one day, in fact some channels are a like that. More categories would be possible though, just like this one: are you like a magazine or your own voice.

There have been a few discussions in the UK, on whether emotional abuse or physical abuse is worse. Whenever the subject has come up, it's been unanimous. Everyone said that emotional abuse was far more painful than physical abuse, lasted far longer than physical abuse, and was far harded to recover from.

In addition, according to scientists, it takes 10 praises to cancel out the negative effects of 1 criticism. I know of no forms of physical violence that have a 10-to-1 ratio of damage like that.

But I don't have reason to think that your MBTI videos would be any better than what's up there. So if you're saying they are mostly rubbish, what am I left with? Only that if you had actually posted a video, it probably would be no better. So then, what you're saying is that IF you made a youtube video about MBTI, it would be really useless, but you don't even have the gumption to try. At least they had a go.

I wouldn't make one unless I thought that it would be better, currently it wouldn't be any better unless I part scripted and practiced my delivery a lot before recording it. Even then I don't think I have anything novel enough to bring forth to motivate the making of an MBTI video. That is the point.

So what you're saying, is that because you don't think you can do a better job, that they shouldn't post either? So then there wouldn't be any such videos, in which case, you WOULD think you can do a better job than nothing, because almost anything would be better than no info at all, and then you would be posting crappy videos. So, the point stands.

You're criticising them for having a go. You're probably just frustrated, because as an Ni-dom, you like to think you can do better than others, and you can't, because what's there is at least as good as anything you tried to do.

Is it fair for person A to slag off person B's efforts, just because person A would like to show herself superior to person B, by making a better effort, but can't? Isn't that an under-handed way of trying to claim superiority over others?

This is just basically a human problem. People have to make up their own minds using their own intelligence to decide whether something is good quality or not. People will sell tabloids next to the Financial Times. Is the clerk supposed to tell the customer up front that the tabloids are junk and the Financial Times is the only real deal? That's just not going to work if all of us continue to enjoy consuming junk occasionally.

That being said, it is frustrating that some people present themselves as an authority without referencing the original Jungian sources. They prefer surface-level stereotypes to understanding the psychodynamics at play.
