Anyone else playing it? Share your stories.

Lost my entire crew in the first sector to a series of accidents, y'know exploring asteroid fields, looting abandoned space stations, boarding plague ships, that kind of thing. Except for the pilot, I didn't learn his name so I'm just going to call him Captian Awesome because he flew the ship, repaired it, fought off boarders, repaired hull breaches, and manned the shields during battle for an entire sector all by himself only to finally die heroically whilst evacuating refugees from a burning space station.

Unknown hero of sector 2 though your name was forgotten you will be remembered.
As a legend.

The zoltron ship sucks.

It's too specialised, once you encounter ships with greater than level one shielding the only tactic is to rely on the missile launcher and that's just dumb, on my first play through I simply ran out of missiles and fuel, in the second a five man boarding party ported into the door control room and neatly cleaned up from there.

The only way to succeed with that ship is by sheer dumb luck.

The engie ship is much the same, far over reliant on the ion cannon, the novelty weapons are more late game fare, when you've got shields that can take a beating and other specialised weapons that complement what you've got, until then the strategic inflexibility is a recipe for disaster.

I have played it. Not overly much. It was fun until it started getting repetitive, not something I normally would complain about, but in a procedurally generated game it should maybe take longer for it to feel repetitive.

I'd like to play(maybe make) something that is more balanced away from combat. Also there is not much sense of actually travelling through space. It's very focused on combat so it might as well strip away the facade of the exploration/mission stuff.

Sorry, I don't want to wreck your story time. Here is a story:
"The prisoner came on my ship and wanted asylum, I didn't give it too him, so he attacked my crew. I don't remember what happened after that. The end".

I was playing today and unlocked the stealth ship. It's seems similar in difficulty to the engi ship(I haven't unlocked anything else), but much more fun.
