As the title suggests, post, discuss and enjoy the music bound by the aforementioned restrictions.
This is awesome, the percussion meter appears to be 4/4 with forced jumps here and there (track edits and cuts), this made me think of another way of introducing non-standard behaviour. I am now looking for artificially edited/discontinuous musics.(Lentic Catachresis)
I'd say the purpose of this thread was to find enjoyable works in uncommon formats and 4/4 is as standard as standard can goit starts with a bit of cookie cutter weirdo fluff but then settles into an interesting and complex 4/4 at 10:33 and really kicks off for a whilei wish more songs would sport 4/4, really got a flavour that one.
I fckn love your contributions guys. Tool primus and king crimson are great (as expected of staples).RB said:I fucking love this thread by the way.
I like the attempt, though if you break it up so much you can divide the song into most-anything you wish. I guess it was your intention to poke me with 'overt signature hipsterism'Helvete said:(...)
Haha, I could say posting jazz is an easy way, nonetheless this is quality piano play, I like it.Aziza zadeh

speaking of balkan folk...goran bregovic <3Many Serbian and Bulgarian folk songs have complex signatures.
I know this CD, but forgot it existed. It's a mix of Gypsy, Polish Highland and Balkan/Romanian folk music, very energetic and well done.speaking of balkan folk...goran bregovic <3
(im not a time signature expert tbh but these dont sound like they follow a common meter)
Pattern free and yet they only scramble the pairs. It's more of an analysis of typical music than attempted pattern free piece. They raise valid points though, so kudos for mathematics.Called "The world's ugliest music", undeserved title.
This is very strong, as expectedmy music theory sucks but this certainly seems uncommon:
Thank you for posting these gems. It's certainly something I've had very little contact with and wouldn't have found it on my own. I think it's a culture I should spend more time exploring.10/8: lamma bada yatathanna...song from andalusian times
intro is 4/4 then turns to 10/4: ya rayah(famous traditional algerian song...beautiful lyrics too)
