Here's an interesting website i found that lets you type in the names of the books, music, or movies that you like, and it comes up with a list of similar books, music or movies that you might like. It seems to work quite well.

I'm liking it so far, thanks! Now, excuse me while I go add more lines to my never ending movie, music, and book "to do" lists...

I thank you for this link. It appears it has quite a different setup to last.fm's predictors (which I have exausted more or less). A lot of the stuff is kinda not a good matchup, but there is enough for me to find use in it. Starting with this newfound artist: Bitcrush

ambitious and awesome idea, but not that great as a tool (yet). for example, when i typed in the movie the shining, it gave out other stanley kubrick movies (duh) and stephen king books. i think it added "the thing" randomly at the bottom, monster connection? some indie bands yielded good results though: bands i currently like or bands that i was once into.

Hmm, let's give this a try.

Search #1: Synecdoche, New York, my favourite movie of all time. I get a bunch of movies whose only connection seem to be that they're set in New York, a few random ones with connections I don't quite see, and a few that I know nothing about, but it also recommends Antichrist and of that I'm impressed. Both movies are nothing alike at face value yet the same existential despair seems to pervade them both.

Search #2: Kent, Sweden's equally amazing equivalent to Radiohead. It recommends me other Swedish music of no real similarity.

Search #3: Breaking Bad, one of the finest TV series ever made. It seems to recommend me any random TV series it can think of. If someone sees the connection between "Breaking Bad" and "Penn & Teller: Bullshit!", let me know, okay?

I absolutely adore Kent (although I don't really speak Swedish that well - we learned it in Swedish class). Maybe you should listen to "Panda" of the Swedish band Dung?

I can't find a Swedish band by that name. Do you mean Dungen? I am familiar with them, and I like them, but I don't see much of a similarity there either.
