What are some interesting fictional and non fictional INTP characters that you think there are, and explain why you think they are INTP's. By the way, try not to use examples from the Internet to get your ideas, try coming up with your own opinions.

Hmm ... how about Spock? =P I've always felt he was a classic example of an INTP.

They're rare in fiction, though.

Dr Spencer Reid from the procedural crime drama Criminal Minds seems to me to be a fair candidate for being INTP.

I've been waiting for someone to bring him up. :) <-- Pleased to know I'm not the only one who watches silly cop serial killer shows.

I am glad I am not the only one either :D.

On another note, I think Mohinder Suresh from Heroes is another pretty good candidate for INTP, although I see a possibility of INFP and ENTP as well. Also from what I heard some of the incarnations of Peter Parker could also be an INTP.

A slightly less realistic example might be Sherlock Holmes from the 2009 movie? I'm not quite sure though.

On second though I think he is ISTP. His method of deduction is very much Ti-Se-Ni.
(not that it's important to anyone here v,v i just.. felt the need to clarify *runs away*)

hehe , yea, I dunno if anyone used to watch the anime yu yu hakusho, but me and a friend recently had a conversation about it, and from the memories that I have of it, the character Kurama came off as a little INTPish to me. He had that sort of passive intelligence and also seemed to take in multiple points of view. Seemed interesting to me.

Here's a pic: http://www.projectbag.com/yuyu/pics/kurama/kurama03.jpg

I have a few possibilities:

Robert M. Pirsig in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (the book especially)
Ender from Ender's Game

Also, the author of Death Note maybe? All of the characters themselves are very concerned with justice and right/wrong judgements, but I would think the writer would have to be able view it without actual bias to write from so many viewpoints. It's also incredibly systematic/logical in the way the world and plot are put together.

isnt a non-fictional intp character just a person? anyway, maybe mr. glass from the movie unbreakable - if you got into the groove of that movie, the ending was...just see the movie. also, graham dorrington in the white diamond; this guy had intp emanating - nay, oozing - out of his ears. so glad i beat everyone to the punch on graham dorrington...could jeffrey beaumont from blue velvet be an intp? perchance! that character loved an intruing mystery.

Dr. Jack Kevorkian (or "Dr. Death," as he's famously known) seems INTP, or ENTP.

I was pondering whether Bob Howard of the Laundry (stories by Charles Stross) might be INTP. He's an introvert for sure, anyway.

I assume Maurice Moss from The IT Crowd is supposed to be INTPish, Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory as well.

Victor Frankenstein? Seems to be either INTP or INTJ. Possibly S rather than N. I'm not a pro at typing or anything. But he definitely has some INTP qualities.
