You must be correct because I'm a feeler and I didn't understand shit

Edit: Reread your post now and you're definitely in the wrong lol. Maybe if you changed it to SF's.

If you don't value the terms of action enough to want to avoid the consequences (ie. do it), then why bother worrying about it. Marcus Aurelius (and Aristotle) says: do nothing reluctantly.

You can value something enough to warrant action and still be incapable of said action.

My advice is get someone to help cheer you on, if you've got nice parents maybe you could explain the situation and ask them to nag on you to make sure you pull through?

If the consequences you hinted at aren't serious enough to motivate you, you might as well give up and sell drugs or become a janitor.

Studying really isn't hard if you know what you're doing. I can understand forgoing studies in order to pursue other serious interests (like creative endeavors or entrepreneurship or whatever), but laziness is honestly pathetic.

HA! I WAS RIGHT! You do learn better when you connect your concepts immediately! Take THAT, history teacher!

All gloating aside, his points are very, very good, and we ought to apply them in classrooms.

Infj Cherry Cola: what I meant isnt that u're not able to see through the feelings of the post. my experience is most of the people (and therefore most types) r incapable of helping me out of highly intellectualized problematic reasoning when present. usually issues stay afloat.

nightstreaking & absurdity: consequences = losing money & disappointing the hell out of family members. which two, despite being somewhat of my concern, theyre not enough to truly motivate me. on being lazy, i cant really say - of course i procrastinate a lot though.

to make it clearer, i love studying but on my own. difficulties arise when i cant get my mind around why there's no alternatives within the educational system. i dislike being tested in a way only they think is relevant, and at almost every single step im making.

Yeah the education system is idiotic (apparently in the Netherlands as well as the US), but lamenting it is absolutely pointless. It is a complete and total waste of energy. However, earning a degree can be immensely beneficial for most people in terms of finding a job post-graduation as well as in terms of boosting their lifetime earnings. The solution, then, is to put in the minimal amount of effort that will ensure that you earn your degree while maximizing time to pursue your own interests.

The link I attached in my initial post should help you study more efficiently, and I strongly encourage you to look into it.

Life entails putting up with a lot of bullshit, and earning a college degree is a good training ground. Try not to let the nonsense grind you down.

Thanks Absurdity. You're helping. I didnt see the link before - I'll check it out. I get the idea that the US and NL education systems parallel much. Do you think?

- I did thus far, but grabbed a chance to change uni for a year, and found myself in a mess.

They don't need to help you study, they need to help you to get to study by being on your ass about it. That doesn't have much to do with intellectualized problematic reasoning.

If you don't like that idea then my only other advice is go study at the library or a Café and don't bring your cellphone, it's a lot easier to focus if you aren't close to your comp or refridgerator or sibling or any other of the many distractions a home can offer.

As Brandmaus said, there's not much to do about it, school's school and conventions are gonna be fucking you so that it hurts all life :(

exactly the point Cherry Cola. none or no technique presented to me is adequate to bring forth results by 'being on my ass about it'. one ear n right out the other. thats why im asking for 'more' help. when im highly stressed, thats it. i cant function properly.

My solution was always to forgo the studying all together and accept my C or B, A's or over rated anyway.

I tried to study more in college but besides reading the text book I really learned more with out stressing out over studying all the time.

I am aware that this doesn't work for most people I can only speak for myself. I have a highly gifted memory when it comes to school subjects. I always did worse in the classes I decided to skip. So for me showing up was good enough.

If I choose to put almost no effort is accepting a C or B. Little effort is an A. I'm like u on memory - mere class attendance is enough. The problem is I stopped attending all together. So now: too much work or fail.
