Good morning Smart People -

Skilled and intelligent speakers are excellent. We all know this. I want to compile a list of the best public speakers, for the benefit of humanity. I intend to revisit and add to this over time, but to start, here are a few of my favorites from the front of my mind...

Dave Chapelle
Louis CK
Bill Burr

Neil Degrasse Tyson
Christopher Hutchins

Meh, Neil Degrasse Tyson disappoints with his lack of preparation and aggressiveness.
He's good for the masses who seek an emotive speaker to relay obvious banalities, but he isn't a good communicator of advanced concepts.

His interview here is really terrible, he shows disrespect for Ray, isn't ashamed for coming unprepared to the interview and his body language visibly distresses Kurzweil whose comfort he doesn't even consider.

Another pop-scientist entertainer.

I'm not a follower of Kurzweil, but a gap in intelligence and style can be seen very well in the interview I linked.

You know, I agree with this. I wouldnt go so far as to say terrible, but I definitely put his name down in haste. I certainly enjoy the subject matter and I didnt want to only list comedians. Hutchins is (was) quality, though.

Sure, I'm sorry if I come off too strongly. It's just my opinion even if I somehow express it too violently. It's not my intent to say he's a bad choice for others.

His ability to passionately discuss science with anyone is impressive and helpful as well.
