A simple game, with each post a theme is chosen (it could even be a random word or phrase) and the next poster has to pick their favorite song of that theme and explain the connection (so people don't make seemingly random choices) then obviously that poster picks the theme for the next poster after them.

If the poster before you dosen't pick a theme because I dunno they're stupid or something go ahead and call them out on it and post whatever the hell you want :D

Theme: Voodoo

Jay-Z & Kanye West - Made In America - YouTube

My immediate association; obviously the tone of the beat, and retrospective lyrics about success both on an individual and social level, and really, where does genuine hope come from if not a sense of historical accomplishments?
I don't know, I just get a "forward-looking empowered by a celebratory awareness of past struggles and accomplishments" type of vibe from it...

Next: Love! :twisteddevil:

Am I missing something here? Where's the music?

In your mind.

Nah, I guess the links are broken or something since the forum went down.

Hmm, there are certain songs I listen to when I'm in a certain mood. I think this is my closest fit of contentment:

Islands-King Crimson - YouTube

One of my earliest memories I can recall is of the mellotron synthesiser. It touches a deep well-spring of myself to hear it. Unfortunately it hasn't been utilised by a great many musicians, but it was featured heavily in King Crimson's early material. In almost all the tracks it is most prominent (In the court..., epitaph, In the Wake..., Starless) it delivers an utter feeling of devastation. Yet in Islands it delivers calm & peace. This song contents me as it makes me feel of all the paths ahead of me at least one has a happy ending. :)

Theme: Crisis (emotional, existential, whatever, your choice.)
