That's actually a tricky question for me. For some reason, I over-intellectualize art, and there is a gap between what I think I should be attracted to and what I am attracted to. Anyone else have this issue? Am I art-retarded?
Anyway, what I appreciate on a technical/intellectual level are classic marble sculpture, ukiyo-e, rococo architecture, [not abstract]expressionism, [asian]minimalist architecture, and I'm sure there's more.
What I'm inexplicably attracted to are simpler things like Turner, Rothko, Frankenthaler, and other such work.
