His art is quite detailed for a manga. He also manages to make characters flamboyant yet manly at the same time.

Here have some DIO. Look how the artist worked on the musculature while selling a very weird pose at the same time.

I have no idea who painted this but it is fantastist because it makes the imagination run wild; in it I see a distorted mind who is of dark mind and is looking toward the future for hope, but the darkness slowly surrounds them, giving them ideas that are vicious yet unknown.

That's actually a tricky question for me. For some reason, I over-intellectualize art, and there is a gap between what I think I should be attracted to and what I am attracted to. Anyone else have this issue? Am I art-retarded?

Anyway, what I appreciate on a technical/intellectual level are classic marble sculpture, ukiyo-e, rococo architecture, [not abstract]expressionism, [asian]minimalist architecture, and I'm sure there's more.

What I'm inexplicably attracted to are simpler things like Turner, Rothko, Frankenthaler, and other such work.

Hahaha
what´s an art-retarded?

What do you supose you should be attracted to?

My favourite artist of all times is Klimt.
As him, I suffer of horror vacui.
Also I like bizantine art, pre-rafaelism, symbolism.
I like naturalist art. I´m not attracted to anything abstract.

This is Arnold Böcklin´s Death Island.

I try to keep my tumblr moderately pleasing, so the most scary shadows of my mind are reserved for intpforum :D
Atonement-1024x763.png

I had a dream once of being involved in the french revolution. Often i try to find imagery that resembles my dreams. And often i find something. This one is a great match.

If i had to describe my taste in words: relatively figurative even when highly impressionistic - there is at least a center of attraction. the technique is often rather detailed or rather carefully worked out. it's colorful, fantastic, surreal or symbolic.

moebius was perhaps the first artist in my life.
