Someone said long ago. Let us go our own way. Your way is my way. We will build a great new structure. We will build it on the coast, and let the waves wash away the filth of our city, but never corrode our new dwelling. It will be like a castle, and you'll always have the key. They lived happily ever after until...
One night, he awoke, and his dwellings were on fire. Many came and threw buckets of sea water to extinguish the flame. The fire was out, but he found that because he had previously filled them...there was no room for him anymore. He pleaded with the king, but was only offered a canoe and paddle, and told to go on into the bitter ocean until he felt better about everything. He apologized to all in the castle who he yelled at for their apathy. Now he was homeless, and all of the castle folk watched him the day he got into his canoe, and paddled hard against the tide. Over the horizon, he seemed to get smaller and smaller. His key finally washed to the shore, but he was never seen or heard from again. He became a little-known legend, that never did much. The people of the castle, and the surrounding city would never realize the significance of this event.
Gone - flitted away,
Taken the stars from the night and the sun
From the day!
Gone, and a cloud in my heart.
- Tennyson
