Here, we share pictures of people we know and their type. If we collect enough, some patterns should become apparent.

Obviously, some of us may be less good at typing than others; so at least state how qualified you think you are, and only post those whom you're quite confident about.

Yes, I know it's unlikely as hell. We have no idea how it happened; especially since our parents were an ISFJ and ESFJ, with no other N's in the family at all. I was the odd duck INTP 10 years down the road, lol. Our poor parents.

I think it must have been some lucky gene pairing or something, I dunno.

Okay, sorry for potentially ruining this thread but here is my entry.
There are some recurring characters for a potentially useful purpose. Egotistical reasons? Perhaps... But we can ignore all that for now if you want.
For all the folk out there skeptical about people being mistyped and what not, I practically use this data bank for compare & contrast purposes. I find it remotely interesting.

This thread really should use video.

Without having some way to verify reads, there is no chance to assess inter rater reliability. The fact is, it is massively unlikely that given the same behavioural data, the people here would identify the 'participants' with any degree of consistency.

With videos, we can see if we agree on the type, then look at pics to discern similarities. With only pics, we are assuming that some bunch of random typology enthusiasts are all correct, which is a terrible premise to base any research on, be it informal or otherwise.

You'll also want to provide more than one pic per 'participant'. Photographers are not always motivated to take pics of representative behaviour.

This thread is a prime example of the fallacies in trying to type people from still images.

There's also the huge problem that others have mentioned of not having any outside verification of the types for the images being presented as an answer key.

I didn't post any typings in this thread. I merely linked Pod'Lairs type list. WHICH is the ONLY objective type-list as they were the first to establish an objective methodology to type people.

Hm. Yes, you can't really confirm each other's typing in general. I wasn't really expecting that, though. Rather, I assumed that forum regulars would have a good idea of each other's typing ability. Indeed, this leaves my own examples incredulous; I was just starting us off.

It's rather unfortunate, how slippery MBTI is, that we can hardly even discuss it amongst each other at all beyond the theory itself.
