Is it some sort of mental deficiency?

I can tolerate these sorts of people in moderate doses obviously but does anyone work close to the sort of person that sees things in black and white and everything is very literal?

The ironic thing usually is two of these people tend to rub each other up the wrong way massively as they can be black and white and literal about stuff yet entirely out of sync with each other about what they feel the need to be very specific about.

The PA to our CEO and our new CFO are like this. They can't interact with each other without getting stuck in some sort of loop of pedantic competitiveness.

I can see our new Company Secretary has this going on too but as he's younger he's more careful about winding the PA up.

Lacking context because you are missing the I/E and J/P dichotomies.

Even an ISTP and ESTP are not guaranteed to get along just because they are one letter apart.

I know I am ISTP and I cannot stand jocks for example.

Don't even get me started on the differences between ESFJ and ISTP.

IDK what you have against ST types, but its prolly something personal you are dealing with... oh wait that is exactly what you are talking about, NVM. If I had to guess, I'd say they are prolly all different types, so its not even useful at that point to say these people don't get along because they are all STs.

When I talk with that kind of people, I just try paste together sentences I know they are familiar with. Otherwise it's like we're talking in two different languages.

I understand the types are very different but I thought the shared S would mean ISTPs & ESFJs would have a common language or dialect. What have you experienced specifically?

I think INTPs and ESFJs have a common language. I don't know about ISTPs – never been one.

But I was actually thinking of Se-dominants when I wrote that. I have very good friends who are ISTPs for example.

Sorry. Got you confused with QT above.

Whaaaaaa?! We're like two peas in a pod.

;)

I would prolly get along much better with an ESFJ with an E9 or E5 than an ESFJ who is an E7 or E1.

I mean look at the CF.

Fe-Si vs Ti-Se this is a difference that cannot and should not be overlooked.

My father is ESFJ and E8 and I cannot stand his guts.

What do you mean by mental deficiency? Is it something programmed by genetics? Is it learned behaviour?

All this shows is stress. Stress causes people to form patterns/habits that make it easier to do x. Black/white categorisation makes it easier to make decisions.
