[Sorry if this is in the wrong group, I'm new to the forum and still unsure of where things go]

For a while now I've been struggling with knowing if I'm an extravert or introvert. When I first took the MBTI test, I scored maybe 60% introverted, if I'm remembering correctly. While I do identify with most of the INTP description traits, I'm far from being reserved or quiet. I talk often with people I'm not close friends with, and don't hesitate to join conversations I'm interested in. I'm also fairly expressive with my facial features and voice, but that may be a product of taking drama classes from an early age.

Why I'm hesitant to call myself an ENTP is because I need a lot of time to be alone after being in a social setting for more than four or five hours. This however, wasn't the case until I moved from a city to a very small town a few years ago. I remember struggling to get used to not being able to walk to my friends house and stay until dinner. Now, if I spend a full day around people I have difficulty thinking clearly from exhaustion.

So, could I have some help with this? I personally don't like the cognitive functions, I'm confused by them and easily mix them up, so if you could avoid them that'd be most convenient.

the I and E in INTP stands for introverted thinking and extroverted THINKING so you can be an extrovert and think like an introvert. from what i understand.

How much do you think? When you are in a big group of people, are you constantly in the center of attention, or maybe sometimes you wander to your world of own thoughts, ideas.

entps and intps are very similar, both think a lot, both can have good social skills, but INTPs live as much as they can in their heads, and entps try to get as much attention of public as they can.

ENTP are funny and have natural wit.

I despise the introverted vs extroverted percentages. Why would they use that?

You got it wrong.

ENTP:
Dominant: Extraverted intuition (Ne)
Auxiliary: Introverted thinking (Ti)
Tertiary: Extraverted feeling (Fe)
Inferior: Introverted sensing (Si)

So from what I can see, you'd like to learn more about typology in order to learn more about yourself.

Scratch that^

You want to learn as little as possible so you may identify your type and .... do what? Know your type?

ENTP are extroverts and INTP are introverts. Can you read two wikipedia articles back to back? Because if you cannot, try something different altogether.

I've been reading about typology for about a year. Some of it is so I can understand how to interact with different types of people, improve my weak spots, and know what types of jobs I should avoid or work towards.

I'd like to learn as much as I can about typology, because it's a subject I'm interested in.

I have trouble focusing on text often, and I find the Wikipedia website to be especially hard for me.

I just don't like the cognitive functions, it doesn't have to do with me being new to MBTI.

I think I spend more time in my own thoughts than I do actually interacting with people, most of the conversations people have around me are pretty boring OTL. When I'm out doing stuff, I do try to figure out when I can spend time just thinking about something.

Can't all types be funny, just with different senses of humor?

I think percentages are used more often so someone can figure out if they just barely have a preference of one letter over the other.

Where do you see your place in the world? Why are you here? What is your purpose in life? When you walk, where do you put your feet?

Yes, I am a lame joker.

Introverted and Extroversion can't be measure like that using MBTI. Each person has two introverted functions and two extroverted functions. Measuring percentage of e vs i does not impact MBTI or typology. It is a separate system.

^ you don't strike me as an ENTP/INTP.
Most likely, ISFJ.

I'm as far from being an ISFJ as I could be, I'm fairly sure. Strict, clear rules annoy me to no end and working on one subject for too long is extremely exhausting, even if it's something that I greatly enjoy. Even thinking of talking about emotions to other people is enough for me.

You may be mistaking me for an ISFJ because of:
Some of it is so I can understand how to interact with different types of people, improve my weak spots, and know what types of jobs I should avoid or work towards.

I've lost many opportunities because I missed small cues that people use, and I'm tired of repeating that same mistake. It's not so much as I want to understand others as it is I want to make sure I'm doing what I can to improve my likeliness of being successful.

Do you spend more time thinking about past or planning for the future? Do people naturally gravitate to you? Are you the leader when you are with your friends? What does your work station look like?

You seem to want a quick answer not too much digging. You want to know Typology so you can interact with people.

once again without any info i'm able to be right.

Not going to say that you didn't have any information. It was spelled out there for you take a leap. Besides this person is likely to be an ISFJ but one could be wrong if you kept digging. This person could also be in a grip experience as well.

Not likely.

I just meant to comment on what a failure this thread was.

OP isn't helping any.....

I was joking even with my lame ability at typing people I wouldn't make a leap like that.

I don't like the cognitive functions, avoid them

There is no "thinking like an introvert" (nor the opposite). And ENTPs have Ti, not Te.

One shouldn't focus much on behaviours, because a certain behaviour can have many and various reasons, situational, cultural, unhealthy, and are not necessarily directly consequent from cognitive processes. This is why cognitive functions are fundamental to the theory. It's not what you do, but why you're doing it that matters.

Study the functions.
