What I take to be Fe in ExTPs is their indirect Ti ability to manipulate and control crowds and surf the waves of a feeling atmosphere. In my experience ExTPs have no problem cultivating followers(/getting on everyone's good side), or generally being oratory masters of persuasive rhetoric. The flipside is knowing the right things to say to piss people off. To that extent I'd say ExTPs and ENFJs are similar, they could care less about their social mistakes or at least attempt to cover them up by intensifying and winning the situation.

ENTJs however don't really focus on that kind of crowd pleasing, they are more similar to ExFPs, and are more focused on the (usefulness of) flat exchanges of impersonal information, and establishing bonds with and sentiment towards individuals. They generally put more emphasis on maturity and sincerity(the weak F side may come with social blunders and blind spots, though ones they try hard to rectify).

My brother's an ENTP. He has that ability to know exactly what makes people tick. He used to get a kick out of it and it would piss me off. I think he would do it just to start an arguement. Which worked with others and he'd often win. With me though, it would just start a fight. There was always a better chance to beat him in a fight than an argument. We're older now and don't fight, but he's also getting much better. I credit his girlfriend for that. She's helped him develop his Fe.

That's a good description of what I meant. It's like they have the powers of Fe, but none of the actual feelings. Now that you mention I also noticed it with ESTPs.
I wonder what it is about the Tertiary function, that every type seems to have some kind of weird relationship (-probably not the best word for it, but you know what I mean) with it. It doesn't seem.

as i pointed out in the PN, things such as cultivating followers is not a power of Fe. Fe is one way of HOW you unite/move people. any function has it's way of uniting, also every introverted function, if mastered: Ji could be a ghandi (intrinsic-strategic-posture:who to be, to be strong and invicible) type of unification Ni is like a hitler or osho (trancendent visionary) style of unification, Te unites by proposing a mix of situation-sensitive-strategy(how to react) and vision (Pi) and so on ... Pe can unite as a call for action, it creates a group through activity, even if that's imaginary activity, a sense of mulitplied potency (this is usually suspicious/scary to Fe users, who prefer Pi, so the more Pe unites (driven by Ti agenda), the more Je get's nervous about it). charisma is when an individual has a clue of using any of his functions in such a uniting way. it's in how you talk about your visions. smarts plus powerfull ego/motivation.

It might help to know what you think Fe is. A lot of people think it's emotions, but Se can have a lot more to do with emotions, than Fe.
