elon musk thinks like an alien and that is why he is successful

that is why you should do the same thing and ignore the average/humanity

if the average and majority are useful guidepost and heruistics, we'll be getting nowhere.

He was pretty primed for success from birth tbh. He was already in the top percentage of people in South Africa.

Besides PayPal, I don't think any of his other ideas are particularly insightful. Instead just taking cues from science fiction and such. His approach to solving these problems has simply been relying on iterative design, which any engineering with fucktons of money could accomplish.

I don't care for his self nor his media representations. Can't really know a guy unless you know them. His actions indicate he is a manipulative little shit with a soft ego.

I cannot take anyone pushing bitcoin or dogecoin seriously. He is either manipulating people or an idiot. He has an ambition and is good a certain thing. Other than that, I think he can be lacking.

He isn't the devil or the messiah, he's just a guy, specifically a guy who has hundreds of billions of dollars and rather than spending it on super yachts and other show-offy things (although I'm sure he has some nice stuff) he's using it to pay engineers to make/do cool stuff.

Were I in his position I'd be doing exactly the same thing, I might go about it my own way, but yeah it would basically be the same thing.

i am saying the cause of his success is that he thinks different from the vast majority, almost as if he is not from planet earth

the same is nikola tesla

there are plenty of people of copy other's ideas and profit off their work like bill gates or edison

dont let the law of average and other people make you sceptical doubt your own ideas and beliefs

For a second I was going to say "Isn't this like preaching to the choir?" because INTPs are not supposed to think like the crowd, but then I realized you might be right...there's a lot of skepticism and doubt about everything. It's like people don't even try to understand what people are even getting at or saying before doubt and skepticism sink in, it's that bad. I don't know if that's type related though.

But ignoring other people can be like ignoring criticism; if somebody makes you doubt your own ideas and beliefs, there's probably something to learn there, right? Isn't that better for alleviating doubt? Or are you suggesting people here don't learn anything and just end up doubting everything?

Or I'm probably overthinking this, but I wanted to, so...

His perspective is unique in big business terms, but a viewpoint which is getting more and more popular as high-tec jobs and lifestyles become more widespread, so I wouldn't say he's a maverick of humanity's mentalscape. Elon did a bunch of cool stuff, has implemented some dodgy business practices and unfulfilled promises etc., and sent stuff into space. Cool enough guy, I prefer not to form opinions of folk I haven't personally interacted with, tho.

I'll not place him with Tesla, Einstein etc. but rather with the likes of Jobs and inventors/industrialists/entrepreneurs, not hard scientists like Da Vinci.

The guy's a businessman and a dreamer and knows how to do his own PR, which means he at least attempts to understand and interact with his client base/supporters, something which can't be said for most billionaire industrialists.

I'll give the man some time, maybe he has yet to offer a tech that is sustainable and affordable and planet-changing(agri, transport, general welfare, etc.), which is what humanity needs now imo instead of chargeable cars and actors in space.
