What is your favorite race in the Elder Scrolls series?
This is in terms of subjective preference, and not based on the in-game attributes given to the races.

So, factors such as lore, roleplaying, npcs and physical appearance should influence your decision, instead of technical performance.

Breton, in Skyrim the combination of magical resistance and heavy armour makes you damn near invincible, I mean who wants to play dunmer with a little fire resistance and a shitty summon that dosen't scale or an argonian whose perk is being able to breathe underwater, which you maybe get to use once or twice in the entire game.

Redguard? What black is a race now, were they imperials that just sucked so hard their own race disowned them?

Whaaa. If Redguards and "men" (Nords, Imperials, The semi-altmer mongrel Bretons) have common ancestry, it is from long before recorded history. They came to the west coast of Tamriel due to Valyria Yokuda, their home continent, becoming relatively uninhabitable for some reason I don't remember. They luckily had a wicked fleet at the time.

Dunmer (for Mer) - I've liked them since Morrowind especially the Ashlanders. The fire resistance is handy especially since Fire's specialty is hurting you. Gameplay-wise this subrace is the jack of all stats of the Mer so they're very flexible to build.

Breton (for Men) - Basically a slightly buffer mage compared to the High Elves. Defensive qualities are also great especially if you stacked them with a certain quest in Riften... Lore is okay but I did like them more after learning about the Forsworn.

Never liked the beast races though (Khajiit and Argonian).

Nord for me -- Altmer is my alternate. I identify with the look and feel. I'm not blonde and pale IRL, I'm brunette and freckled, but the persona seems right to me in the game.

Usually play some kind of warrior in Elder Scrolls, with some magic skills layered in.

I've always been a fan of the Orsimer (Orcs), and to a lesser extent the Bretons. I always seem to have a Breton Mage and an Orc Battle-mage.

Bosmer. It just seems like an interesting culture. They're pacifists with a strong military defensive mentality. So they're militarily potent, but don't actually attack other people unless they get attacked first. Imagine that, huh? The forests are sacred to them, so they're anti-vegetarians. Unfortunately that includes ritualistic cannibalism, which makes the other races a little wary of them. They accept all immigrants, including escaped slaves or slavers escaping from a slave uprising. And their capital city walks around. Plus they're amazing snipers (my favorite play style).

Fuck cat people? Khajiit are by far the coolest race in the game; thieving badass furry huggable brutes. How is this not desirable?

Then for me Orcs and Bretons are about equal

The rest fall in below that except for the argonians. Those scaly fuckers are by far the worst race.

I like playing a Khajiit for role play. Going out of my way to free slaves and kill their masters. That actually screwed me over while playing Morrowind. I killed an important person and didn't notice the warning that I killed an important person. So I then decided to kill everyone in Vivec. I fought Lord Vivec in a fist fight and destroyed him.

Being a Dunmer is fun too. Being a religious zealot and doing any task a Deadric god tells me to do.

I love the Argonians from an aesthetic perspective, and never bothered paying much attention to the lore. I played through Skyrim with one, roleplaying it as racist against the Khajiit, and I had fun brutally killing all the damn cat people I came across.
