How are you today
So what are your dreams like?

Mine are definitely not very specific. I can always tell what objects are if they were a specific part of my dream, but sometimes certain places or things are other places or things that I know, but the way they match up is so abstract that only occasionally can I tell where my brain pulled it from or what it relates to. Like one place will be another place, but not resemble it at all. Also, the area is very undeveloped in structure but as to what I am doing or where I am going, I usually know. My dreams are very unspecific though, and not very detailed. Sometimes they are, but more often than not they are the shell of a dream.

Some are very detailed, but the detailed portions are always very specific. Not everything is detailed, and all my dream locations are certainly met with a layer of must after I try to recall eat was happening outside of the dream epcenter. Only the immediate area of focus, be it near or far, general or specific, is usually clear.

They are also weird and not tied to real life in any way, usually.

I've seen hamster mazes, places from video games, people with the names of people I know that i can't fully recall, sometimes I can see there face but my interaction with people is minimal.

Also had De ja vu dreams, some times more frequently than others. Kind of weird.

Anyway, your experience with dreams?

I constantly get dreams of running away from something, in all shapes and forms. Sometimes it is being chased by a killer, sometimes escaping a storm or flood of water, sometimes being chased by someone and instead of running I have to sneak around hiding in the shadows trying to get away... it's a constant theme for me, I'm not sure why.

Ah, a coincidence that this thread is up, cause I had a bizarre one.

A dog chasing periscopes in a muddy stream. Actually, more like large snorkels because something was using them to breathe. It was bewildering and frightening, and I thought about blocking the holes.

A very diverse jungle, I should have stayed with the group. I veered off on my own on a path and I noticed the plants got very strange-looking. I had a run-in with this character:

[bimgx=250]https://images.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.leawo.com%2Fblog%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2010%2F03%2FAlice-in-Wonderland-9-full.jpg&f=1[/bimgx]I've never seen the movie, but just promotional ads a long time ago.

He states that this area belonged to a prince of darkness. I was allowed to eat the fruit there, but if I did I could never leave. So I decided to get out of there.

Sharks with alligator tails and flat heads that opened up to a large array of teeth. I was stuck on a ledge holding my feet up but I was getting tired. Still, even though I held my legs as high as I could go, they still were able to jump up on the tip of their tails to nip at my heels and the tips of my toes. This was after they were able to rip my shoes and socks off.

I seen the face and learned the identity of this prince of darkness. He was considered by all the girls to be the hottest man in the world. Great smile, buff, and had a few tattoos on his arms. He really didn't seem all that bad or scary to me.

Ramsey Snow from the Game of Thrones was there. He gave me a small knife with a bright smile. Then as the blade was in my hands, he tried stabbing me with a needle syringe. I didn't have to struggle to prevent it for long, as someone from behind him stopped him.

I was in some kind of institution psych-ward, which more was like a school. My room was large with yellowish brick walls and a hard tiled floor. A very old and small tv was on the floor. All of the previous characters in my dream were there, along with big men with billy-goat goatees doing homosexual things with each other. I didn't seem to mind or partake, I just left them alone.

Homes and pieces of buildings and scraps were all being hoisted towards the sky at the same time by something not visible beyond the clouds. Whoever we all were, we jumped, climbed or dropped from each plateau nonchalantly, as though this was always the way of life and was all we had ever known.

I woke up and remembered that. A lot of details are missing, but I still thought it was a nut-job of a dream. I don't really relate to any of it. And the only thing that was scary was those sharks.

I once had a dream where I was playing Team Fortress 2 as if I was the character Spy. I could only speak in in-game voicelines. Eventually the setting switched from somewhere I've never seen before to the playground from my elementary school so long ago. I eventually managed to get a friend of mine who was on the enemy team to trick his teammate into getting backstabbed by me.

Another time, one of my friends was eating a tube of my toothpaste. He looked down, and we both were disgusted by the reality; he had actually been eating acne cream. In retrospect, I don't see why you would be disappointed at eating acne cream but be ok with eating toothpaste.

And finally, I had a dream where I was a generic human being, and I was at this castle with a lake that looked like Rivendell and Hogwarts. Satan was there, and he told "me" that he hid my soul at the bottom of the lake, and I had a month's worth of time to swim around to find it. It was interesting.

Lately I don't remember my dreams when I wake up, if I actually dream...

That was a funny dream, Urakro! :)
Sounds like you've been facing some commitment (s) lately, maybe girls implied? :v

http://csmt.uchicago.edu/glossary2004/symbolicrealimaginary.htm
I'll just leave this here and walk away....silent and slowly.

Hey, thanks.

I assume dreams are nothing more than chaotic thinking gone off the rails in many tangential directions. Before going to sleep, I'll keep occupied by just thinking about stuff, planning or figuring stuff out. This gradually phases into something I have less control of and I get deeper into unconsciousness.

I could start analysing the crap out of it and get a lot of really meaningful stuff. But I don't think it would be any different than tarot cards, or horoscopes. For instance, I could theoretically get deep symbolic meaning from staring at a cardboard box if I flex my mind enough.

Although you are spot on about the commitment thing. That is a pretty big thing in my life right now. And it wouldn't take much effort to connect my real life events with girls. The first part of your linked article sounded interesting, I'll take a better read of it later on.

This has been a recurring framework in my darkest dreams.
I've also had many centered around underground tunnels and labyrinths
And above ground, destruction and mayhem.

Occasionally I just have far out ,wacky stoner dreams.

Others are fairly normal, with just snippets of what I'm repressing.

Dear Urakro:
Yeap, you're right about the symbolic thinking.
Interpretation of dreams are mostly bullshit :D

It's just that your dream reminded me of the story of the ego entering the symbolic instance in psychoanalysis ^_^

Also you sound enthusiastic, I think you'll do great with your commitment. ;)

Not where I want to be.
During one of my dreams, I was running from a murderous killer, and eventually chased by a little boy and his dog, whom were hunting the killer, but chased me because I had escaped the killer.

The little boy had a gun, and the dog was off the leash, clearly wanting to attack me. As I ran, I thought about killing myself, or having the boy shoot me in attempt to escape the dog, even though I didn't fear it. I only thought this way, because I knew it would hurt when the dog caught me. I was completely calm.

When I awoke from my dream, it did not feel as though a nightmare. I was very much awake, more awake than I had ever been after waking up, it felt good. I was entirely relaxed.

Crazy? Perhaps, though its unlikely.

Repetitively running late for planes, trains, etc - forgetting tickets or just forgetting to book the tickets and/or forgetting luggage....

Performing dental surgery on the street with blunt instruments and no anaesthetic.

Tidal waves...enormous.

Then they wash over me and I swim peacefully underwater, I can breathe and stuff. I dream about water a lot. Fish, boats, etc.

Leaping frog: I leap repeatedly, and every time I leap I am airborne for longer and longer until I fly.

Skiing dreams: I ski like hell down a difficult course or ski across a peaceful landscape.

Murderous psycho dreams. Some psycho is chasing me around the lounge with a knife.

Creepy Polar bear dreams. A Polar bear is stalking me through the Arctic wilderness. I wake up exhausted....:phear:

Oh, I forgot to add that in one dream I had, I did an underwater snorkeling drug bust with Jesus and his apostles. Don't know how I had that one.

That sounds like the perfect dream. Is there any way I could trade some of mine for that one?

I only remember the bad dreams which always involve losing control. I dream that I'm climbing a sand hill, and keep on slipping while everyone else is climbing easily. or I dream that I'm stuck in a narrow hole and cant move anything. sometimes it's a car I'm driving and the pedal is stuck at full speed while I barely avoid other cars. being unable to solve an exam etc...

uncle google says it means I'm feeling powerless about something in my life.

I recall giving birth to my own father once, except his fetus came out encapsulated in a case with a thin membrane covering. He suspended in amniotic fluid. My mother was also encapsulated, but I found her stuck to the ceiling of my living room. This occurred after I killed a demon lady with iron fragments (she was allergic to them). A lot of dreams involve physical fights or running away from dangerous (sometimes invisible) forces.

Some are also pleasant.

Last night I had a dream where I was sneaking through the alleyways of two identical supermarkets, and there were leaves everywhere, so it was obviously autumn. There were ropes and tripwires set up, and I was making my way to the entrance when I saw a cobra. I somehow fell on my back and tried to run away, and it worked up until the point when it stated talking to me. I don't remember what it said, but it reminded me of Smaug from The Hobbit. It teleported right behind me, so I had to run for my life.

Where I am.
I've started having nightmares regularly.
The most recent one was a little disturbing. I was in a large prison cell, with no doors, and one window in the center of the room. There was a child towards the back wall, sitting in front of a laptop. He was covered in dirt and was wearing all white. I asked him what he was doing and he told me he was watching a video and thought it was really funny. I looked at the screen after he invited me to watch it with him...In the video there was a puddle of blood, and it seemed to expand, then the laptop disappeared and so did the kid, like he was never even there in the first place. I continued to stare at the blood and suddenly my stomach dropped when I noticed it was moving. An eye opened up in the center, shaped like an evil eye, and I woke up with a shiver rolling up my spine. I remember as I opened my eyes I whispered "That's disgusting." It was almost forced. Like it was supposed to be part of the dream and it slipped into reality.

I've started to analyze my dreams, and try to turn them into something logical so they become less terrifying. This is the only one that still freaks me out...

wait. There is a difference?

I stopped having dreams a couple of decades ago. Generally.

I did have one last night tho.

My kids were up in the top floors of a hotel and I went to the first floor lobby to get something done. Gas station next door became engulfed in flames, the flames quickly encircled the hotel and there was not going to be any way to get them out.

It's rare for me to remember dreams. I do remember the nightmares. They often dealt with my kids, similarly.

For example, when my eldest was 6-7 weeks old, I had a dream where I opened the closet door and a bowling ball fell off the top shelf and crushed his head in.
We didn't even own bowling balls, nor did I go bowling much at all. Don't ask me.

But yeah, the parenting thing... lots of stressors/fears.

My dreams..... wow, there is something that has been bugging me for quite some time. I get many replays of things that have happened in my life, then at some point it all turns upside down and ends up completely different,,, It is actually a rather irritating problem because there are now errors in my memories where I am no longer completely sure what the real version of the events is. An example is when I blacked out at school (such a long time ago by now) all of the events are now a complete uncertain scrambled up confusion as to how/why exactly I blacked out.

Also, lately my mind has the annoying tendency to trick me after I woke up. My alarm would go off, then I would switch it off, take a shower, get dress, and then open the fridge to get milk. I would then continue getting Eyeball serial and pouring it into my bowl, adding the milk then after I took the first bite, I would realise it is all a dream and my alarm was still pounding in my ears.

Also, soooooo many Deja vu dreams, some don't come true though (thank the whole Parliament of Milky-way stars that they don't.)

haha! Thanks, now I remember a similar dream I had at some point in the last year, where I woke up, went through my morning routine, etc... and at some point, I remember thinking, "Wait. I don't think I'm really awake." I don't remember what was off -- the lighting or some other minor detail. And then I woke up for real.

The annoying thing about this is that if I don't write down the details of the dream when I wake up, I rarely remember what it was about later.

I do remember a dream back in my early 30's where I was flying like Cannonball out of Marvel's "New Mutants".

And a really weird one: When I was in middle school, I don't remember the dream, but I remember walking into my parents' room in the dark, dropping a pair of shoes I had somehow picked up along the way (they made a loud thud on the floor), and saying "Bilbo's dead." Then I realized where I was, and my parents did not wake up (as far as I know), so I then picked up the shoes, left, and went back to sleep. I still have no idea what that was about.

Hahahahahahahahahaaaaahahahahahahaaaaa you killed me at ""Bilbo's Dead""

I imagine that if we might develop as in the book called Dream Thief (by Stephen Lawhead) that even with the studies into dreams we still wont understand some (or even all) of them.

I just woke up from a dream.

Backstory: There's a girl whom I've been going after and so far it's been stressful and slow.

Dream: I'm on a mountain, a steep one with dirt on it, with only wooden, brownly painted fences on the right leading up quite in a horizontal fashion. Apparently there was a feeling that I had to see her before she left the country for a trip, and that climbing the mountain and getting on the other side might allow me to meet her. On the way up I see an old childhood friend of mine 'Tyler', who beckons me up the mountain, and we start digging up together. As I grasp on the dirt trying to go up, I have this odd feeling that somehow the slight 'atheism of whatever' is going to be my downfall. I continue up, with my friend alongside me, although on the other side of the fence. The mountain continues to become steeper, and the dirt now will do no good. I grasp onto the wooden fence, which seems to be fixed on to the wall. I feel apprehension as I grasp on, thinking that this fence will fall off from the wall and that I will fall. The fence breaks off. I fall.

Buzz. A mosquitoe awakens me, and now I have to eat breakfast and go to work.

...:ahh:

I had a strange one this morning, extremely realistic, took me about an hour to 'recover' from it.

The details are hazy now, but it was something to do with human parasites.. must have been of the reptillian kind; I was reading a long article on them before falling asleep, (super stoned to boot).

Sometimes my dreams are easily and directly influenced.

Two reoccurring dreams plagued me as a child. One was full of light and adventure, while the other was extremely dark and terrifying.

The dream of adventure featured yours truly running, jumping, and swinging through a vast jungle. Vines kept me aloft as I traversed over huge carnivorous Venus fly-trapesque plants chomping at my feet. But I was like Tarzan, and nothing could touch me. The dream always ended at a railroad track.

The nightmare that I remember waking up terrified from when I was quite young (but eventually became desensitized to) featured what I can only describe as the grim reaper itself. It had me by the throat. I struggled to escape his bony grasp, but the more I did the more I would be swung around in a circle of death. I would look into the dark cowl of the creature in front of me, hoping to catch a glimpse of my killer, but all I ever saw was darkness. I was throttled around in circles, spinning and spinning out of control until I felt a dizziness and was sure I would soon die.

Both dreams occurred fewer times the older I grew, and vanished with the advent of my adolescence.

Nowadays I don't remember most of my dreams. When I do, they tend to be funny or very profound. Once I had this dream that was very similar to the WALL-E film, only I dreamt it about a year before it came out. This small droid was created, but it didn't do what it was told. It wasn't dangerous or anything like that--it was just curious. It kept flying around this human space convoy that was headed for some other planet. Its creators mistreated it as they repeatedly tried trapping it, dispatching it, and leaving it behind. Eventually they just ignored the rebellious piece of hardware because it was more trouble than it was worth to do anything about it. Ironically, despite this treatment, it later unknowingly saved the human race during an alien encounter. These aliens also tried destroying the droid, but it was so wise to attempts to apprehend it that the whole alien battle force took itself out trying to destroy it. The aliens were an overly aggressive specie that didn't have the sense to know when to leave something alone, and through a series of events it destroyed itself in an onslaught of crossfire as the droid engaged in some really awesome evasive maneuvers.

I dream a lot and I usually remerber them in the morning.
All sorts of dreams, some funny, some weird, some scary.
But 3 kind of dreams come back pretty often.
The first is being chased by zombies. The location is different every time, as is the people with me. But the same thing happens every time. It starts as a common dream, people doing stuff, and zombies attack and I find myself fighting them and trying to save the people I'm with. I usually succeed.

The 2nd one is being unable to drive a car. Everytime it's my father's car (I don't live at my parents house since 15 years, but most of my dreams still happen there) and I'm sitting at the wheel and the car is running but very very slow, and I'm getting stressed.

And the last one, my favorite, is that I can fly. I just put my arms in the air and I take off (like Superman). Problem is sometimes it doesn't work. I put my arms in the air and concentrate like I'm trying to poop but I stay on the ground.
And sometimes I take off but I can only fly low.

That's about it.
Sorry for the approximate english, I'm French so...

I used to have severely disturbing dreams to the point that I would only wake up from a dream if it WASN'T scary.

At one point I started writing my dreams down, they started coming to me vividly enough that i had to stop writing them as while doing so I would get a extreme sense of unease.

Sometime I will have to share with you them...at least the last 2...those I still remember fully, and they were horrifying.

I'm of the impression that dreams are leftover concerns from your conscious thoughts. Usually if you are an adult having nightmares it points to some tragic and unsolved riddle in your life. For children having nightmares this is easy. They simply haven't figured out most things yet and so much of their conscious experience is an unexplained thing. They dream a lot as a consequence.

I'm middle aged and I never dream. But I also don't have any lingering, unexplained tragedies in my life either. For the most part I understand the world and what makes it tick.

I have been trying to remember my dreams for the sole purpose of this thread. Once I can remember one I'll be sure to post about it here.

Here is what I have wrote about a recurring dream I have had:

It starts out as a normal day. I don't know exactly what we were doing, but it had the feeling of everyday life -doing something not quite monotonous but not altogether exciting either. Then, There was this feeling that I can only describe as intrigue mixed with awareness and that my sixth sense was picking up that something big was about to happen. I was with other people -my family members, and we were outside.

...There was an comet that fell from the sky roughly the size of a third of the moon. Our family tried to drive away from the fucking thing. I remember a wall of earth moving in our direction. We then had to get to the center of the earth where there was this baby blue glowing hue thing, where we were going to get the mark of the beast.

[Edit] I remember more about this dream.

When the wall of earth moved over us and swallowed us up there was a transition for all mankind and everyone all the sudden completely forgot about the comet but there was dirt in the air. We were all under the control of... something. There was a tunnel made going down into the earth where people had to go down into it and we were still with our families when we made our way down. The baby blue hue things was some kind of being that was in a capsule and there was a part you could see into the capsule where there was two beings living in it. there was a face that you could see and it was a greyish color with its eyes shut. I felt this was the thing controlling everyone and I felt I wanted to do something about it, but didn't know what to do or how to break free from the control of the being. We were going to get the mark of the beast once we got lower past that. *shrug*

This weird thing has been happening when I am, I think, lucid dreaming. I look at the ceiling directly above where my head is and I see a circle of light. Its not like a flash light light where there is a circle filled in with light, its like a ring of light. Its not there when I am going to bed, I checked the next day after I saw it the day preciously. Not sure what that's about.

K, last thing. I noticed recently when it is pitch black in the room I am sleeping in (because I can't stand any kind of light when I sleep and often sleep with a pillow over my head) I feel like I can see some morphing patterns when I am looking around in my room when I am not tired enough to sleep yet.

#somewhat realistic dreams, often not lucid:
cruising around endlessly and somewhat pointlessly, by bike, skateboard, public transport, ....
driving in a family car, having accidents or getting trapped in car chases ...
skiing, riding roller coasters, diving ...
stealing or destroying shit by accident and being punished harshly for it
attempting to murder people who wrong me by punishing me for natural behavior.
getting lost from a group, lost in town, strange countries ...
somehow meeting a girl,
struggling with my father ....

#surreal dreams, partially lucid:
discovering fantastical landscapes, mythological or archetypal scenes like crossing the ocean with egyptian slave ships, sinking into the underworld, end of the world scenarios, ... lucid shamanic journeys/inquisitive interactions with dream characters of meaningful symbolic appearance, encounters with aliens, sci fi

#visionary dreams, fully lucid:
come as the occasional peak of a surreal dream, it's like taking drugs inside of a dream, suddenly everything explodes into partially abstract imagery and the subject object division can be drastically altered ...

#uninspired lucid dreams, sometimes a fake lucidity:
becoming lucid, still being connected to my body, having no better idea what to do, but to project an OBE like experience, flying out of the window and expecting to discover something surprising outside, but it's never really surprising.... a small world of cliches.

#shadow/evil/dissociative dreams:
knowing that i am sleeping and feeling that an alien force in my mind keeps me trapped in an unpleasant dreamstate and locked out of 'my physical body'/'waking state controls' and tortures my mind ...
these dreams often coincide with the digestion of poisonous food items, spices, opioids/etc from cheese or gluten or legumes, etc. being dehydrated.

#spiritual dreams. being all humans/the one:
holistically becoming aware that everything in my reality, also in waking reality is a manifestation of my psychology, that i am it ("reality") and that in this sense i carry the responsibility for the destiny on humanity, as all humans co-create reality simply through having a subjective picture of reality, full of dualities of good and evil, lack and surplus and so on, driving the world along the pressure created from imbalances ... feels very solipsistic and heavy to realize this karma. i'm likely to awake with anxiety.

#meditative dreams
lucidly wondering about the quality of consciousness during a dream or in between dreams, am I it, am witnessing it? shifts of perspective occur ..

#occasional emotional dreams accessing early childhood memories, possibly from times before ego, the first four years or so. emotionally and sensorially intense like time traveling, but broken memories are restorated with fantastic fillers. intense emotional explorations of relationship with my mother, sister, father etc .... are usually lucid, i am actively browsing through memories

#broken states of consciousness that i can't really describe ... confused between waking and sleeping

Right over there..
I get bizarre dreams very often. I've tried googling about them to try and analyze why.. but no luck so far.

I often dream about movies/tv shows I watch - zombies, dinosaurs, etc. Which is understandable.

There was a spate of 5-7 days a few months back where I dreamed of my family members dying. Very disturbing week, that. I was almost scared to go to bed those few days!

I've also had several insect related nightmares. Specifically involving spiders. :s
Very recently, I had an extremely vivid dream. The overall atmosphere was tense in the dream. I don't remember the beginning but a small robot-insect of sorts jumped through my window and landed on me (possibly to bite me or something..?). I was so scared in my dream that I actually physically jumped out of bed and was frantically checking my sheets for the insect for a few seconds.

Oh also, I often get this earthquake-y feeling at times and I wake up and feel my bed still shaking. It doesn't go away till I sit up or change my position.

1)

Dreaming of being an non-living thing. I once dreamed I was a carton of oasis orange juice, I could see the inside of the carton. The '' goal '' was to not let the pulp sink at the bottom or I'll wake up, and I could actually feel myself slowly waking up as the pulp was sinking. I needed to shake the carton to fall in a deep sleep again and in order to do that I would shake my head frantically on my pillow irl.

2)

My brain mixes places too and likes to add new stuff to everything. Some sets are reused lots of times, and dream-me usually recognizes them from older dreams.

3)

Lucid dreams. Got them 2-3 times, one of them I remember clearly, the first one, a year or two ago. It was awesome, I spent all my time testing stuff. I found out I could change my environnement but I had limits. It required a lot of concentration and if I focused too much the dream started to fade away. I tried to change the color of a wooden door for example, and the color started covering it from the top right corner and kept changing, like an unstable rainbow. After a couple of seconds I had to look away because everything was becoming dark.

My hands seemed to have too much fingers and everytime I tried to count them I came up with a different number. I read something about the time on clocks being inconsistent in dreams so I wanted to test it. I couldn't consciously make a clock appear but when I turned my head to the right it was there hanging on the wall, waiting for me. And yup, it kept indicating a completely different time each time I looked.

At one point I met Neville Longbottom ( yep... ) and asked him if he knew he wasn't real, that he was just part of a dream. Don't know how my dream handled it because he had a really confused expression for a couple of seconds and I could never remember what he responded. I woke up because I thought I was better not thinking about dangerous stuff that could change the set and wake me up, like falling down of a waterfall. Guess what happened...

4 )

I constantly get dreams of running away from something, in all shapes and forms. Sometimes it is being chased by a killer, sometimes escaping a storm or flood of water, sometimes being chased by someone and instead of running I have to sneak around hiding in the shadows trying to get away... it's a constant theme for me, I'm not sure why.

I had this for years. It was very specific in my childhood, I was in a cave, running from a killer I never took the time to look at. At the end I came to a rock cliff and had to choose between jumping or letting the danger catch me, ending up dead in both situations. I always chose the fall and woke up still feeling it.

Once, in my teens, I was running away from something bad in a mall, and I decided I was tierd of it and stopped. When I turned back I discovered I was running from a teenage girl looking really superficial and bitchy, the kind of girl that would pick on me at school. And I stopped being scared because I realised I was really strong and could beat her up really easily. I pushed her from the top of stairs a couple of times, letting her fall and then bringing her back up. It was really satisfying. I'm sure it has something to do with building my self-esteem and expressing reprimed anger. I don't recall dreaming of running away from an alone persone ever since.

5 )
Nowadays most of the time I'm running away / sheltering myself from a zombie outbreak. For one or two years it happened almost each night, I'm not even scared because it's too normal. Sometimes the zombies are in the background while I'm doing stuff completely unrelated to them. One single time, I dreamt a horde catched me and forced me to lay down, ripping my belly open. Seeing my bloody organs passing over me in their hands was too disturbing for me even if I felt no pain, so I woke up.

The last dream I had:

I heard someone move on their bed, it was night. I started listening to these noises to learn where they come from. Turns out I heard them from outside the window. Since it was a dream I instantly teleported outside, but I didn't see anyone and I couldn't hear these sounds once I was outside.

Then I heard one of my closer friends say something nonsensical. I wanted to understand why so I asked them, but since I felt they were terribly far away in the distance, behind a "barrier" of some kind I felt I had to shout to get through. So I shouted "what are you talking about".

Then I "woke up", not really, I was still in a dream but this time I half-sat on my bed and I was a bit afraid that I could've shouted at night and someone could hear me. So I thought it shouldn't be possible because the way I was lying on the pillow would make it impossible to produce such a loud voice.

I calmed down a bit and then I wanted to know why did I wake up and had this uneasiness all the time. I noticed the windows are shut and there was only one self-regulating air slit open, so I felt the room was warm and there was very little oxygen left, I also ate too much before going to sleep and these factors must've caused this anxiety.

As I relaxed after seeing what my situation was, I decided to stand up and open the window to allow some fresh air in, but I couldn't move and I instantly felt paralysed. Then I managed to half-sit after a struggle and I felt a sticky hot liquid pouring on my face and dripping down. I brought my hand to my face to examine, it was completely dark. I concluded it could be a nose bleeding, though it was too intense for that I thought and I should be choking with blood already if that was the case and I was breathing through my nose normally. After I thought that I instantly started suffocating with imaginary "blood" and I started to struggle to get up again.

***

Then finally I woke up (this time for real). That was a strange nightmare of sorts. It's rare for me to wake up in a dream and remain asleep, or to analyse my situation with such clarity and intensity and then remember everything afterwards.

Will probably return here later with more analysis but I just want to jot down some dream, specifically, most of what I can remember from this morning.
What I can recall is a Nazi like scenario, although we were all gathered in a home and lounging on a couch. Someone else (my elder brother?) was on the one to the left while me and a Hitler like character were on ours, he to the left, and a high ranking henchman was there also. For some reason, I guess we were going to be executed or something... What happened was that my friend V did something that aroused the henchman. He made an admirable sacrifice and was taken into a room, which left a laser on the floor. While he was being taken into the room I had to consider whether this was my chance to retrieve the laser and kill the Nazis, or not. I attempted this but the henchman yelled at me and for fear of having harm done to my personage, I chilled out (quite the annoying motif for dreams, one must remember that it is only a dream...). Earlier that day during waking life, someone that I was hanging around was pointing a laser pointer at the ground. Can't exactly recall what happened after this but the setting was still a home. There was some annoying guy there who reminded me of some guy from middle school. He had a (paintball?) gun and was causing mischief with it. I wanted to leave and I think he had killed someone already. I sketchily fled through the back door and hopped the fence out onto the street of the neighborhood. It turns out we were at our parent's previous home... Again. Seems to be a popular dream setting. The guy with the gun was also on the street, behind me, and began firing shots. I was running but it was particularly difficult, so I pulled my pants up a bit which eased the difficulty but it still seemed like I wasn't running to my full potential, not nearly. May have thought that I was waking up soon. Didn't have to put in much effort dodging the rounds, partially because he was semi far away, and then I noticed that they were paintballs but I still didn't want to get hit and get my clothes dirty or anything.
I had no weapons and it was dark and cold. And, this was the same street I was running down (with a wolf) in a previous dream that I had outlined here in fact. There was a van and a man walking on the left side of the street. He was casually strolling down here listening to headphones. I stopped and pleaded him for assistance but he looked ahead then quickly let out an anti-affirmative response and kept going; I understood his choice. So, I continued "running" forward, and then a barking dog came running up. He had the demeanor of attacking everything and thought I had it in for me but he just barked and slightly approached, then as if seemingly distracted by a more appealing target (don't get me wrong, I like cats. But, for some reason, I seemingly have always had an affinity with dogs. We have had more dogs than cats as pets and I tend to enjoy their company and slightly understand them to an extent.) ran past me towards the guy with the gun and interacted with him for a moment and then seemingly disappeared. Next, as I kept going forward, an elder man dressed in trenchcoat and fedora was walking down the street minding his own. I briefly considered interacting with him but before I knew it he snapped out of his spell and, as if annoyed, pulled out a sawed off and shot and murdered my pursuer. Not sure if he was a cop or what but we never really saw each other again. I... Felt a bit glad. My pursuer had a deranged comical aptitude which was off putting and I didn't want to be near him, I guess, in an exaggerated ideal sense.
I went back to the house and tried to hop the fence but it was taller, having remembered that a new one was installed, plus a neighbor was exiting his house and I didn't want to be seen committing a possible trespassing (not to mention that I initially had a bit of trouble hopping it the first time around in order to get to the street, as the gunman followed closely behind). I went to hop the other fence but can't remember if I did or not. As of writing this, I can now recall some other dream moments which took place outside-ish, and involved mushroom hunting or something. Earlier that day during waking life I had a brief discussion revolving around "Bleak House". So, maybe that title influenced the dream a bit.

I have been trying to remember my dreams for the sole purpose of this thread. Once I can remember one I'll be sure to post about it here.

I have finally had a dream worth mentioning.

It starts out sorta like a chicken and egg scenario. I don't know if I was awake first or asleep first. In my dream, I am asleep and I wake up. When I wake up I notice that there is a man there. He is apparently hypnotising me. In the dream he asks me to lay down and try to sleep and I do. There is then a conversation about some things that I cannot make out and then I wake up. Some words are exchanged and he basically tells me we are not done yet and we are not making the progress that he thinks we should be making , so I go back to sleep and he hypnotises me again.

When I am awake, it is very dark, and feels like it is my room, however, I got the image of a wire stipped down to its metal and the color green attached to it. It looks like the wire is going across diagonally in the corner of the room where I am watching fmpov. I don't know who the man is exactly but I have the feeling he is a family friend. The weird thing is that this individual is supposedly a christian as well (my parents are what they would call devote christians).

Anyways, this happens prolly 3 different times -where I wake up, the man tells me, almost in a stressed/nervous eager sort of way, that I need to go back to bed so he can finish helping me. At one point it is discovered that I have a fear of something. Somehow this fear has something to do with cats  So when I wake up, I find myself talking to my mother and father's good family friend's daughter who was just married this year. It was kind of an awkward conversation, but somehow it comes up that this guy was hypnotising me and fmpov as I am describing it to her I realize that there has been an enormous benefit in my psyche. When I wake up for the last time - after talking to the girl, I turn my head and see what looks like a digital clock, only it is not a digital clock, but a IQ tester that tells you what the persons IQ is by the brain activity they have going on in their head. I got the sense it was rapidly declining and then when I was with it enough to tell, I saw the IQ numbers go from 105 - 106.

Then I woke up.

Eh I am not usually one for sharing and interpreting dreams, but this one is decently remembered and interesting enough.

I do not remember the first part of the dream, I think I was doing something with a group of people, then I left.
I then stood in a shopping mall, entering a shop that looked like a bank/movie counter/sports store(Dont rightly recall)

I went through a door, and then stood in a green field, There was a medieval looking building, which I entered.
Some people where preparing food, one one of them came up to me with a very small rabbit saying "Kill it"

I twisted it's neck and it's head came loose.
I then stood at a metal kitchen sink with a skinned rabbit in my hands, and one of the people pointed to an anemone-like creature with the body of a squid(The fleshy cylindrical part in the center with the tendrils coming from both sides)

It was cut open, and someone told me to stuff the rabbit into it.
I asked "With the bones?"
(I dont remember whether they said no or not)
I then somehow tore of a boneless chunk of rabbit flesh, and stuffed it perfectly into the strange creature.

The next thing I knew, I was in the store again.
I entered a room with people about, and came to a dining table.
The seats were all taken, and every person had a steak in their plate (I think they were raw, but not sure on this).
I then said something along the lines of "Never mind, you are all normal"
I was back at the mall.
A teacher who once taught me physical education, who was also a coach of hockey, was arguing with a worker who I managed on a mango farm once.

She asked me if I could get rid of him as he would not leave her alone.
He then asked me to explain something to her.

I told him something similar to "I cant, I am going somewhere and do not wish to be late"
I then stopped and asked the teacher what he wanted from her.

She said he wanted a number of someone, he had mangoes and wanted to sell it to a man that she knew.
I then told him to give me his number, writing it upon my hand with a pen, for I may have buyers.

I woke up at that point.

Had a somewhat strange dream last night, where I killed a robot. The robot had no face but had a human-like shape. I killed it because it stood in the way of me being with a certain person whom I used to know.

The meaning is obvious I think: it is the desire to kill robotic thinking in myself in order to form deep bonds.

I dreamed last night that I was invited to join some kind of secret group (about 7 people) that was going to go out on a boat and do something (can't remember what.) I didn't really understand what was going on and why I was being invited but I joined anyway.

Even though this was supposed to be a secret society, there was an announcement by the leader of the group in front of a huge mass of people that this was happening, and the members of the group were pointed out out of the crowd and acknowledged based on their skills.
However, when the leader reached me, he was unable to come up with something that I might be able to contribute to the team, and just indicated I was there before continuing on. I then tried to think of something I could contribute but couldn't come up with anything.

Edit: Remembered more

Before all that happened, I was on the top of a hill full of trees and had some device that threw me into the air and down the hill. In midair, I yelled out to my friend who had recently broken her leg that I was probably going to break mine also.
As I was about to land at the bottom of the hill, I thought I was going to break my ribs upon landing, but somehow I was fine. I reached a concrete building after landing where I was invited to join the secret society mentioned earlier.

There's more that lead me to this point but I've forgotten it now.

I don't remember. :D Mostly I remember dreams where I'm running away from danger more or less figuratively ...
I had a dream about having a dream. I had also a lot of dreams about sleeping too late when in reality it was barely 3.00 AM.
If you want to be really efficient you can have a dream about having a dream where you are dreaming. ENTJs can only daydream that kind of efficiency.

That is actually crazy amount of Te dreams. Being a productive and efficient dreamer... nice to have some screwed up priorities.

I had an ability to control my dreams consciously aka lucid dreaming. Still very little memories. I don't know about ability that anymore.

Even my dreams lack sensory details. :kali:

Yee recently one of my dreams is of me running away from some dude that I've liked because if I don't I know that something nice would happen (my limited love experience has created a wall between me and getting emotional to people so I would like to avoid anything too lovey and intimate). All I know is that I'm fucked if I continue this relationship //cries//

I hear of people talking about their dreams of being superheroes and having superpowers, being all powerful or whatever. My experience is always the opposite, I`m weak and helpless and either can`t move at all or move extremely slowly in my dreams, and I`m not good for anything. I can`t even lift the lightest of objects. So I tend to not remember my dreams 99% of the time because they`re not enjoyable at all.

The kinds of dreams that I remember are rare, and those have to do with situations where I`m a fly on the wall observer and can`t influence the happenings whatsoever. It`s some random stuff happening and scenes switching from SWAT team raids into high-rise office buildings and then for no apparent reason the scene becomes some big, quiet room someplace else where there`s very little happening (completely unrelated storylines or whatever you would call it.)

I remember once or twice, I actually realized that I was dreaming in the middle of the dream! It was a super weird, funny experience. It was when I was a kid I think, and I remember I think there was some guy there in some classroom I was talking to and I told him that "this is a dream," to which he replied "no, it isn`t." We repeated that banter a couple of times before I woke up. LOL super weird and funny talking to a guy you know is a figment of your imagination and even he is dismissive of what you`re saying!

I had a dream that I was having a conversation with Dracula, about a week or so ago. But he had more of a Zombie like face than usual Dracula, half the flesh was missing. He had a cape tho.

He was chilling on my friends bed, chatting away to me, whilst I was 'getting ready' in front of the large mirrors in my friends room.
