Howdy peeps

I'm gonna do a re-make of my intro since I don't like my first one anymore

I'm The Introvert (T.I. For short) and I'm kinda not really that introverted, once you get to know me. I'm liable to blurt out obscenities at random and spit. Like a talking llama or camel.

Also, I'm almost entirely intuition-wound. Ne and Ni. It depends on what mood I'm in. I can actually perceive the change, it's daily (and seemingly random, although personality response is predictable). I don't particularly enjoy going in to detail, and prefer to dance around the subject, only using as much wit as I need to make my point.

This facilitates brevity; both in victory and escape! (I can slip out of the debate before getting over my head if I see it heading in a direction I can't win).

Also, I like video games and stuff but I try not to play them because it wastes my time. I wish I didn't live in a city because cities suck and I would rather explore nature rather than social events (although those are fine too).

Ask me questions! I've interacted with many of you here (seeing as I had several hundred posts) but I don't really think any of you (besides THD) have any clue about The Introvert :ahh:

He's lying. The majority of people listen to he who shouts the loudest.

Note: did not say "he" was speaking correctly or coherently, but they hear him.

(admittedly, the members here aren't exactly "the majority of people," but he didn't specify)

There's a difference between hearing and listening. One hears the loudest yet listens to whoever most closely resembles themselves. Yeah, this means the majority of people are loud assholes.

Hear the loudest
Listens to the quietest
agrees with whoever closely resembles oneself

^This just means you're quiet.

:cat:

If you are loud they will just get louder. They will not listen.

I am married to a teacher and she uses this line of thinking with her children.

I don't exactly mean whispering or timid, it is about maintaining calm when the other person is not. It is more important to be firm and calm than loud.

In that specific environment. Loud is the influence of the television, the parents, the friends, and the inner voice.

It's about more than being quiet on her part; it's about siding with their interests and the things that influence them.

Welcome Re welcome The Introvert. Is this like you being reborn? Do you want to be a Phoenix? I do. That would be saweeeeet. Actually I would want the abilities of one. I would like being a person more so than a bird I imagine.

I have over 1000k posts, but they are full of shit and idle musings. By that I mean whatever random thought captures my attention and/or things I find amusing. Then I share the love.

So would you listen to someone yelling at you with an uncontrollable anger or would you listen to someone who was calm confident and firm?

not me. I don't give a single hoot about number of posts. I doubt its in the nature of most INTPs either.

What is worth more and where does the definition of hamburger come from?
McDonalds or your backyard grill?
Sure McDonalds says it has served trillions of 'hamburgers' but what the meat actually is (and is not) is still a mystery.

behold the pink goo chicken nuggets are made from:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwEqi0zfJ4o

Captain Obvious points out "analogy being made between 1 trillion nasty low quality 'hamburgers' served and quantity of posts on interweb not necessarily guaranteeing any quality, indeed may indicate lack thereof"

Furthermore: if getting to 1000+ posts would be REALLY REALLY EASY. It might take some time, but just make 1,000 one liners or one word comments on any given thread.

I can assure you the country is not all it's cracked up to be. I've lived out here my whole life and the closest 'city' (Dallas) is 2 hours away. It's great for the times when you don't want to fight traffic or you want to hear crickets or something, but the lack of stimulation is phenomenal. I would give a lot to be able to spend my day off in an art museum, but it's simply not possible. You're bored or going crazy in your head? Too bad, there's not even an all-night coffee shop, sit your ass down and think some more.

It's also very hard to find someone to talk about anything to. Most people only care about parties or who's sleeping with who, and the less people there are, the less chance of finding someone...less annoying.

Not living in a city certainly has upsides, but it has major downsides too.

I'm inclined to agree with you, however, looking at the number of your posts and mine I am wondering if I should just ignore us. ;)

Seriously though, it is easier to say that the lower number of posts equals greater quality and the higher number of posts equal lesser quality, when you have less posts than it is when you have a lot. When you are here for awhile and your posts increase a lot, would you make the same comment or observation?

I do see your point, however, and I do agree that small low quality posts can increase numbers faster but let us not devalue the few that have 2000 posts and have done a good job making most of them a value to the forum.

I come from a smallish town (~20,000 people).

I would rather live in a smaller place or outside a city than directly in the city. It's so dirty, the air sucks, too fast-paced. I'm used to more country-type (both people and environment).

It's because he's secretly a flying camel who's angry because he lost his wings.

Post quality is a function of time spent actively reading forum, and to a lesser extent, how much you post.

High post count accumulated over long period of time = high quality poster. The worst posters are almost always those that have not been here long, and they rarely stick around past the 2-3 month mark.

I would spend more time reading if there were not so many filler posts in between with quick and smart remarks. I do enjoy them but mostly I am serious and would like to be able to read the more relevant posts. The process can become tedious. Either there are a lot of ENTP here or the INTP feel this is a good place to exercise there Ne function where they can feel a little more free to extravert themselves.

Perhaps, although I think it's probably something fucked up with my pineal gland. Sometimes it spazzes out and other times it just shuts down. I don't know if that's a thing, but yeah.

I've never seen or been a phoenix, so I dare say I can't truly appreciate the beauty of one. It would be cool to fly.

For your analogy, less of a rebirth and more of a "hey, do you guys even know I'm here?"

I'm glad you share the love though. There's nothing full of shit or idle there :)

Now. The Introvert. Can you explain why I get an odd feeling when I read your posts?
I can explain, although I may not do so correctly. You probably get an odd feeling because my more interesting posts are usually written when I'm in an odd state-of-mind. By that I mean that I kind of ramble with a general direction (think Ni-dom with bits and pieces of whatever I happen to be thinking of thrown in and glued together). I have a malleable personality. Really, I told myself today that I don't even have a personality. Like a chameleon. I am whatever I am whatever day I wake up, and insofar as my physical appearance and somewhat stable chemical structures aren't radically different than normal (although recently my appearance is starting to get less dependable) my personality is dependent on immediate surroundings and how much melatonin is in my system.

Does that answer your question?

What do you mean by odd feeling?

Well, I'm not him, but I have the answer.
It's because he's secretly a flying camel who's angry because he lost his wings.
What's the real answer :D

Maybe if I pretend he's wrong they won't catch on.

Welcome, The Introvert. Why did you select your avatar?
Well, a long-ish story!

Obviously, I like pokemon. Psyduck isn't a favorite of mine, but after some introspection I realized that Psyduck and I have a lot in common. Odd, chronic headaches, and super badass psychic powers that can be unleashed at random times. Forreal, I get hardcore deja vu, sometimes lasting for 5+ minutes (I've predicted things like people walking into rooms during especially clear clairvoyant bouts).

With that, my original avatar was an ordinary picture of psyduck. However, I changed it to a picture reminiscent of Edvard Munch's "The Scream" because that's one of my favourite works of art.

Why did you choose your avatar?

Interesting. Maybe I understand. Like a mirror, although what people will see, is their own blind spot? I've wondered what makes chameleons. Perhaps it's mentalization that goes on. That would be a prerequisite for at least good chameleon'ing I would expect. Do you consider to build your own non malleable personality? If not why, you have no issues with 'sanity/realism/delusions'?

I find this utterly fascinating. Are you aware of the changes you go through? And what control the melatonin levels? They seem somehow to be at the core.

Please ignore these questions if you find them invasive. Not even sure why I am curious.

If I could explain it further, I would(odd feeling). Get a familiar feeling, like something in the periphery. Maybe it's a similarity on something. I'll let you know if I find out,

Doctor-Thank you, I wondered how The Introvert looked. Doesn't seem angry now though? And a question, is that cat you or me?

I've given honest attempts to build my personality but I can only keep doing something for so long before I give it up. I can't force myself to do something, even if I want to; it has to be someone else, or something that just gets stuck in my personality. I don't think this is unusual, though.

Further, if I had issues with sanity, realism, or delusions, how would I know? I've had moments of delusion and reality, but I'm pretty sure they were drug-induced (they faded after a bit I think, unless they're still here and I'm just missing them, or have grown accustomed).
I find this utterly fascinating. Are you aware of the changes you go through? And what control the melatonin levels? They seem somehow to be at the core.
Yes, I'm aware. Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to tell you ;)

I don't know what controls the melatonin levels. Honest to God, I have no idea. I know what I can take to manipulate them, but naturally, I haven't a clue.
Please ignore these questions if you find them invasive. Not even sure why I am curious.
Not invasive. Perhaps you're curious because it's a curious situation :)
Maybe you see a bit of yourself in me.

Do you know me? Someone like me? Yourself?

Maybe I should be a spy.
