Do NTs tend to be picky eaters?

My friend (INTP) and I are both picky eaters. I ran into a thread on the intj forum the other day and they seemed to be picky about food too (well most of them). I know it's kind of a stupid question but mbti is a bunch of generalizations anyway.

Are you a picky eater?

How about other things in life?

No, I am not picky. I don't like tomatoes though, or most sauces but I think all people can be defined as picky, nobody likes everything.

I drink my tea only if it is brewed for about 5 minutes, and it must not contain sugar, if it has to be sweetened, it has to be honey. This is to optimalize the taste and chemicals in my (usually herbal) teas to give their calming or stimulating effect.
I first eat the vegetables on my plate because I never liked them and still don't. Then I eat the potatoes, or the other mediocre boring food, and then I go on to the tasty part of the meal, the meat or the chicken or something like that.
I also first eat the crusts of bread because that doesn't taste nice either.

Everything I eat is done in such an order that in the end I will feel satisfied and not like I wasted a nice taste in my mouth.

I'm pretty picky in other things as well, except things that don't interest me, such as mathematics, sports, etc.

I am not picky... Didn't have the option to be as a child and was forced to eat everything (If I threw something out my dad would find it in the garbage and make me eat it).

I definitely am. I only eat what I think won't harm me. But, seriously, I am. I don't eat unless the food is good(unless extreme condition like 3 days w/o meal). I do not pay much attention to 'hunger' anyways; so if I'm going to pay attention to food, it might as well be a 'good meal'.

Not at all, but I refuse to eat foods that make me sick, I have a list of things my stomach wants to reject so I refuse those on logical bias. My parents always thought I was picky until I could understand the science and explain to them why it bothered me.

I would be fine with not eating really, hunger is only a mental thing for me. The pain is barely noticeable and it will eventually go away.

I dislike unhealthy foods simply because I look to the future. Vegetables are nice as long as they are not cooked. Red meats are decent but I could live without it. I do like fish and other sea foods. But as long as it isn't bothersome to me I am fine with it, taste is sort of meaningless, like pain it will eventually go away.

Now chewing gum, that is a different story, it will be in my mouth a while so it better taste delightful to me and it better not have certain chemicals in it that gives me headaches like some do.

Hard to say for me. I am kind of picky about the type of texture to my food, but even then i will eat it if need be.

A lot of people do tell me i am picky but what that comes from is the fact i am just plain lazy. I like food that is easy to make, doesn't have to taste amazing, i just dont even really enjoy eating, it is a task to me, so i like to get it done fairly fast.

I also never liked the more bloated feeling of being full so i eat small portions a lot of the time.

about food as they get.

You have no idea.

I think I agree that it's an Se inferior thing. I'm not picky with food so much, I just don't enjoy eating as much.

Overall I am picky. Not compared to my brother (EXXX), but pickier than most. I have disdain for things like mustard, mushrooms, most vegetables, raw seafood and certain textures. I think I am also HSP, which might explain some of that.

I'm sort of picky. I have a very sensitive gag reflex, I won't touch certain foods, like: cheese, beans, tofu, mayonnaise (is evil), ranch dressing, thousand island dressing, cream cheese, sour cream, etc......the list goes on. At least I'm not as bad as was as a kid, when I would stare at my dinner plate for hours, not eating, because I thought the food on the plate, if eaten, would kill me. I would there sit there, wondering why my parents wanted me dead. :(

I wouldn't say I'm picky. I will pretty much eat anything if it's put in front of me but when I'm the one making it it has to be simple because of my nasty habit of just walking off and forgetting about it.

I want to be able to eat new foods, but I have a very sensitive gag reflex. I eat food very slowly because I can't take very big bites. It sucks.

i used to have a parsley avoidance 'fetish' since i wasn't a fan of small flakes sticking to my teeth. other than that i've always been an enthusiastically adventurous eater since birth, basically. raw horse ftw

I eat most anything, as the other option is fixing better food myself. I'm too lazy for that.

I do have this odd obsession with "quality" sodas. the only times I'll drink cheap sodas is when there's either nothing else to be had, or when I'm drinking for the caffeine instead of the flavor. (Though I do have a favorite mixture of Dew flavors)

Might there be an Si aspect to it too? I tend to just stick to foods that I'm used to, and if I've had a bad experience with some food (say, if I've thrown up after eating it for whatever reason) I won't be able to eat it again, and feel slightly sick from the smell/sight of it.

Correct me if this isn't what Si is.

I will almost eat anything that I won't find its way to my ass 5 minutes later and several hours too early.

But certainly I do have preferences.

As long as the ingredients do not end in a number, -zine, or -oxide and they provide a decent source of protein, we should be fine. Basically, when you leave it out for a week, it should perish, and not go on truckin' for three years.

Put it front of me and it will be eaten, although I do have certain foods that I enjoy more than others :D.

I'm certainly not picky, but there are a few things that I try to avoid, like mushrooms and eel.

I'm not really picky at all. I have a list of 4 things that I despise to eat and I won't mind pretty much anything other than that.
