not sure exactly where this should goes, so i stuck it in this section..
to the other intp guys.. do you often have flashbacks and zoneouts and feel really depressed for sections of time?
also - i cant figure out why i am depressed.. and not happy.. if anyone could help this at all it would be awesome..

also- anxiety. i have a tendancy to put myself into situations that will create huge amounts of stress on me.. almost on purpose.. i think it has to do with the mentality that i am improving my adaptability.. is this normal? (i have had shingles twice.. im 19.. if that says anything)

there are several threads on this topic! INTPs are highly susceptible to depression, social anxiety, etc. Check out some of the other threads by searching the topics. Since this is the introit section, just tell us something about yourself.. how you're so happy to have found other likeminded people and how you look forward to contributing.. and whatnot. Welcome!

i have had minor skin problems due to stress practically my whole life. its stupid but i cannot let go of the embarrassing moments in my past and often flashback to literally ten years ago and still get annoyed about it. i guess it all comes from being a perfectionist.... or just self defeating

i was sooo very excited to find that intp was a type, as it seemed to fit me to a t. i personally havent met too many intps (i think introverted people dont often get personal with other introverts) and i was surprised that other people think like i do.
i must apologise for posting a repeat, as you have found out, i am new and didnt know there was a search option (although if you mean go through each topic and look for what i mean, then that doesnt apply).
i dont know exactly how to describe myself, other than describing an intp.. any particular questions?

hello sniktawekim,

welcome to the forum - hope you find what you want here - and appreciate the random and tangential benefits you will never have imagined.

questions?

what kind of music do you like?
what are your hobbies?
what do you like to think about?
what do you want to be when you grow up?
what fantasies occupy your mind?
what would being happy look like?
what is your favourite colour?
what is the last book that made you think?
what films would you recommend?
what is the capital of Venezuela?
what kind of clothes do you like wearing?
if you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
have you read and contributed to the 'you know you're an intp when ..' thread yet?

is that enough?

haha music. well i think all of us intps have a rather eclectic taste in music .. depends on my mood
sometimes metal (but not the "broootal" kind)
sometimes classical rock (pink floyd etc.)
classical (im a sucker for piano and violens)
neo-classical
sometimes buckethead (really like his softer stuff)
satriani
NIN
and many more.
---
currently (im in college.. my time is limited) i enjoy writing a little when i find the motivation. i enjoy taking walks at 4 a.m., i played hockey through highschool but dont have time/money to do so anymore.
every now and then i write a program (it is required for class, but i actually enjoy doing some of them)
i enjoy drawing when i have the patience (im not good unless i put a ridiculous amount of time attending to the details, and i dont want to draw something unless its good)
i like messing around with my computer hardware - upgrading it and such.
i like watching people and how silly some of them are (even though i am rather misanthropic)
i enjoy reading, but im often to impatient to sit through a book i dont have to read unless its really good.
i also play the piano.
i surprisingly enjoy staring at facebook for a while.
and probably most of all- daydreaming.
----
i often speculate about exchanging all my money for seeds, nails, and axe, a hammer, and a saw..going to a random place that isnt so populated and building a shack and living off of a garden.. maybe writing in my spare time (i would totally do this, but i dont know if i could give up electricity-bummer).
-
i also dream about the world pretty much being destroyed except for me and a few others (i guess letting all the intps live wouldnt be a bad idea) and starting civilization over.
-
i used to apply personalities on girls i thought were attractive and pretend to fall in love with them.. then i realized this wasnt a good idea.
-
i dream about my future and trying to raise my kid to have a sharp mind.
-
i often dream about being god, or single-handedly taking down corruption in governments (maybe with a sniper rifle or so)
-
thats allot for that question so ill go to the next one..
--------------
i wish i knew what would make me happy.. its a weakness i guess.
but i would wake up everyday.. more than content to turn off my alarm clock and get out of bed, find that i dont need a reason to allow my upper lip to tighten into a smile.
-------------
color is a tough choice..
when i was really young i liked red allot, but then it changed to green.
i really like green, gray, and white allot (i like black if its in a design with white..)
-------------
i wish i had read more books for this, but i liked "player piano" by vonnegut (im currently reading slaughterhouse-five).
i also liked the illustrated man and martian chronicles by bradbury.
ive been meaning to read "do androids dream of electric sheep" because blade runner is my favorite movie..
---------------
haha well i would recommend blade runner.
war of worlds sets my imagination crazy (i actually enjoyed the sequal more for some odd reason-maybe it was the environments)
phenomenon (bout a guy who has telekinesis and such)
planet of the apes of course..
-------------------
caracas probably wasnt worth the google search.. i could be wrong
(dont mean to offend you if you are from there)
-------------------
i often just wear a hoody, pair of jeans, and sandals if it is cold.
if its warm than some comfy t-shirt, shorts, and sandals.
i like dressing up sometimes if im going to something formal. sometimes i dont like it.
-------------
hmm somewhere that is about 80 degrees.. really cloudy and really windy.
i dislike the sun (if i stare at it i sneeze.. is that normal for anyone?)
i love wind.. i could spend all day outside laying in the grass if its windy.
and i dont like it too warm, but i like wearing shorts and such.
----------
earlier i was reading half of that thread, was really enjoying it, but i had to finish homework.. i have some ideas to post, but havent read through all the posts to make sure they arent repeats.

thanks for the question.. and thanks to anyone who had the patience to read all of that!

hey, thanks for doing that - now I feel a lot more interested in you!

I love Vonnegut too - such a loss. Sirens of Titan is thought-provoking too and fun. Have you tried any Thomas Pynchon? The Crying of Lot 39 is a good place to start. Gravity's Rainbow is one of the best books I've ever read though it took me 3 attempts over 30 years to finally get through it - definitely worth it though and one of the few books I might just read again.

I play piano too. And my favourite colour is green.:):):)

yeah caracas was just a curve ball question :p

hope you enjoy the forum

i just recently became a vonnegut fan.. so i havent read sirens of titan yet, but ill read it after slaughterhouse five.
pychon sounds really familliar, but ive never read anything by him.
ill have to get on that.
im very interested in reading good books, i just dont know where they are all at, so i guess i can start this pychon thing - ill probably like it.

i once read a book that talked about how you could find out some of someones personality based on their favorite color, so maybe intps have a natural drawing towards green. i do find it funny that all of the smileys on our forum are green.

When something is not working well, it's often because you have a persistent complaint, linked with a fixed way of being....

Is there anything you constantly complain about (if only in your mind), a situation that reoccurs again and again and you always react in the same way?

That sounds interesting, JoeJoe. Where might one read more about that?

Well, there's a book called The Three laws of Performance, which gives some insight to the topic but I suspect that it won't really have an impact on your life and it's also very concentrated on companies.

You will have more success, if you participate in the Landmark Forum. Landmark Education is a very controversial subject however and you will find many people who claim that it is a cult and brainwashing and stuff.... If you have more questions, I once opened a thread titled "Landmark Education".
