Again, something weird has occured to me lately. When I dream, somehow my dreams correspond with reality. But, here is how it happens; so, I am in the middle of a dream and, for example, I am get called to do something by my mom, then in reality my mom actually calls me to wake up. ... Wait. Do I make sense? Well, this is has now happened to me for several nights. I am quite fascinated by the incidents. Has this ever occured to anyone? How do you explain it/ Why does this happen?

Another thing is that my dreams are extremely realistic and I seem to have a little control over it also.
e.g.- I wake up in the middle of a dream and go to get a drink. When I go back to sleep, I can bring back the same dream/ to "re-dream". Hmmm... Does this happen to anyone else?

Dreams sometimes get so realistic, it is rather unnerving. :king-twitter:

Yeah, I once had a dream that a snake was rattling behind me. I started to run, but it somehow leaped onto my shoulder and attacked me!

Turns out it was my dad saying it was time to wake up and then rubbing my shoulder.

So yeah, that is weird, but the even weirder dreams are where other people's dreams match yours. I was dating this wonderful INFP creature and we had this happen a half-dozen times. Magical.

Well if you get information from your senses while dreaming, you'll find a way to work it into your dream. It's amazing how quick you are to come up with scenarios like that in your dreams. Yeah, I continue dreams sometimes. When I wake up after having a cool dream I'm like grr I wanna go back there, so I just fall back to sleep and go back.

I've experienced this on a few occasions. Some of the more notable ones:

The night before I took my first girlfriend on our first date (fishing :p) I dreamed of a vision of a trout swimming oddly past us with some sort of growth on its head, and when we went fishing, we saw the exact same fish.

I dreamed of hitting a deer on the way to work and that morning I narrowly avoided it.

Intuition run wild?

I can also continue dreams if I wake up within a given period of time, especially if they were lucid dreams.

This sort of deja vu in dreams has happened to me many times, though the cause and purpose is uncertain. I suspect that there is something deeper in them, but again I am uncertain. I rarely ever remember my dreams, and the ones that I do remember are usually heaps of gibberish and associational images. Still this thing about dreams corresponding with reality and foresight through dreams, whether real or imagined, has happened to me many times. Very bizarre.

That stuff seriously makes me question reality. I can literally feel it in my gut and it's a total "Holy ****" moment.

... So, why do dreams occur? What causes them?

I do this, but the feel of the dream almost assuredly changes once I taint it with my conscious mind. Typically it takes a turn for the worse, the magic being broken.

I've just dreamed with my death. I was lied down under a huge plastic pool or something then someone started to fill it with more and more water and it started to crush me. I could actually feel the pressure on my chest. I really thought I was going to die, everything was getting black and I could hear voices (in the dream) desperately screaming for help getting lower and lower. Then when I was supposed to die I suddenly woke up. I was all sweaty and like wow wtf just happened

There was a time in the third grade where I dreamed through an entire day of school, and just before I got home to play some game (submarine titians) on the computer, I woke up.
AND THEN I HAD TO LIVE THROUGH THE DAY AGAIN! The homework assignment was almost exactly the same.

I've had similar dreams but not all pleasant. I woke up to find myself strangulating myself (well not exactly but something of the sort). I wasn't even dreaming. I was asleep when I began to feel a tremendous pressure on my chest. I couldn't breathe and I was as stiff as a rock. The ordeal lasted for what seemed like an eternity. When I awoke I found my arms crossed on my chest and my legs...well my position was something akin to a mummy. I took my arms off as soon as I noticed and hell...I could breathe again.
