If you sliced a brain up like a loaf of bread would you cook them in a frypan like steaks or considering that a brain is mostly fat, use them cold on a burger like a slice of cheese.

I'm going to try to do this daily although I may do several at once if I've been offline for a few days.

Brain matter seems pretty soft to me. I'd mash it up and mix it with something to bind it and form a burger. I'd probably use something gluten based, but since your eating someone's brain I can't imagine you'd care whether it was gluten free or not.

If someone was raised in artificial reality, as say a colonist on spaceship where everyone is kept in a matrix like VR for the sake of practicality, and that VR had all the conveniences of a modern MMO (think Sword Art Online, yes terrible anime I know, go watch the abridged series like a nonretarded person) how would you teach an adult how to poop?

"Take it easy everything's going to be fine"
"Don't patronize me dammit I passed the simulation with an S rank"
"Sir you just need to relax"
"Spare me the feel good hippy talk I'm going to do this and I'm going to do it my way HHHRRNNNNNNNGGGG"

One would assume that in such a situation, the virtual world would have to mimic the real world entirely in order to prepare the users for a life outside that world. The biggest problem would be to ensure that all muscular development would be equal to that of the virtual bodies they were a accustomed to, otherwise all their motor functions would be way off.

I'm wondering whether all that you'd learned in the virtual world would actually translate to muscular memory. I mean, even if you know how to do something, would you even have the fine motor functions to do it? Would the parts of your brain required even have developed?

Suppose in the future there's an offshoot of the Abrahamic religions where the participants use genetic engineering to give themselves wings or whatever, point is they declare themselves to be angels and therefore excempt from human legislation.
If they're not human is it still genocide?

If there are a lot of them, people will probably enjoy hunting them. If there are only a few, they'd probably have to live in a conservation to prevent being hunted.

Also, cannibals would be referred to as angel hunters.

My father offered me his investment property for a steal, basically he wants liquid assets right now but it's a terrible time to sell and I can't buy his property outright and starting a new mortgage would practically reset the interest so I've unofficially bought it from him with the mortgage deposit I was saving up, officially I'm renting and what I pay in rent goes towards the mortgage. He's losing about 20k but he would have lost it anyway if he had sold.

Catch is I was on a lease in a three bedroom share house, in fact I'm still the sole lease holder of that place and will be until November. Last weekend I moved out and this weekend another flatmate is moving out, and in order not to lose a lot of money I need to keep that place full, I've already got one new person in so I just need to find one more before the end of this week or I'm going to lose $140 every week until I do.

In the last few days I've moved house, got my utilities connected (just this evening got some food in the fridge), helped the new flatmate move in, attended inspections, fixed a toilet and reorganized my finances to make everything as automated as possible. I'm still unpacking at the new place.

Meanwhile at work my boss has been bullying me, my best guess is that she's under a lot of pressure to justify her (now largely irrelevant) role and putting me down makes her feel more managerial.

Late May there's a camping trip with Gopher I need to be prepared for and sometime in June I'm planning to go to the Philippines to meet a girl I've been talking to for almost two years now.

In summary: I am really stressed :D

"You say slavery was abolished but you own pets"
"Pets are not slaves, they're not people like us, they can't look after themselves like we can"
"Indeed and there are many humans that can't look after themselves, will you sell me one of them?"

Clearly no benefits to being a pet. LOL

[Silina: wooow, you are actually keeping this up. Good on you!

(psst, who wants to bet on how long he will keep it up?)

Psychology may be a "weak" field due solely to ethical constraints, if we really wanted to know in depth and detail how the human mind works there's plenty of humans to experiment on an plenty of experiments to do. An alien race that has less qualms about individual rights (say if the roman empire lasted until the modern era and slavery was thus considered normal) could be far ahead of us in that field, maybe they'd have fewer political issues as they know how to maintain the people's support and how to create competent leaders.

Civilian first aid kits almost never have the requisite supplies needed to stabilize someone who's mortally wounded, heck most of the time they lack antiseptic and sanitary gloves, what's the point of a box full of bandages and saline?
They should be called boo-boo kits.

Edit: The entire point of "first aid" is to stabilize someone so they can survive long enough to receive full medical treatment, if they're not in mortal danger it's not first aid, it's just aid.

I think most religious people find the notion that humanity isn't special, that we simply evolved here by chance, to be quite frightening. On the other end of the spectrum statisticians are kept awake at night by the Fermi Paradox and the very real possibility that we might be more special than we'd like to be.

Information on BCIs I used to be able to find has gone missing and all the leading researchers have been suspiciously quiet in recent months, since Elon Musk started investing in it a lot of people have been throwing their own money at it, I predict there will be patent disputes before 2020.

Question: If someone's being consistently inconsistent are they being consistent or not?
Answer: That's a stupid question.

Are meaningful emotions a finite resource?
The first time anyone experiences anything is profound but with every subsequent time the profundity is diminished like there's some kind of universal law of entropic mundanity.
